last I heard, it was Leo Austria who was succeeding Norman in coaching the Blue Eagles since Bacon is now graduating. Norman will move to TnT and Chot will helm the National team. If this is true, then Jamike could be a strong contended to coach SBC if they do sack Frankie Lim. But this is all hearsay and I don't know how accurate this is.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT OF FR. JETT VILLARIN ON THE STATUS OF NORMAN BLACK WITH THE ATENEO BLUE EAGLES:

It is with regret that I inform the community that Coach Norman Black, who we all know has been such an outstanding coach for the Ateneo Blue Eagles these last seven years, has indicated his desire to return to the PBA where he hopes to replicate his successful system. Having been at the PBA before, he is in a way coming full circle with this move.

I am pleased however to tell you that Coach Norman has agreed to Ateneo’s request that he coach the Blue Eagles for the 2012 season, and that he remain as consultant to the men’s basketball program for two years thereafter. Norman will be with us therefore for three more years, coaching the team for one more year and helping out as consultant in the two years after that.
In view of this development, I have formed a search committee to help me discern and decide who the next head coach will be. The committee will be composed of the following:

Mr Edward Go (chairman of this committee)

Fr Nemesio Que SJ

Mr Ricky Vargas

Mr Jack Huang

Mr Joey Campos

Mr Ricky Palou, University Athletics director, will serve as adviser to the committee and Ms Debbie Tan as secretary.

I have tasked the search committee to ensure that the search process be thorough, impartial, and extensive. The committee will submit a shortlist of three candidates to me, out of which I will make the final choice.

In a few weeks, we will be preparing for season 75. We will not let our guard down and we will even work harder for that historic “5-peat

San beda red lions leaning towards ronnie magsanoc for the head coaching job vacancy. I was told that it was because of "seniority" that's why they are picking magsanoc over jamike as the next red lions coach.
