Congrats Due: Kobe, youngest to 20,000 points

Most of the hate in here are probably from fans that the Lakers have stomped on in the past or are currently have beef with. Please what's your team ?Portland, Cleveland, Chicago, Phoenix, Spur ? Kings ? LOL. Kobe is the best player after the Jordan era period. There will never be another Mike, but therewill never be another Kobe. Give the man his prop and Merry Christmas.

Let's not make this thread about MJ vs Kobe...

let's just say congrats to Kobe on the 20K...

After the Jordan era, Kobe is the best player not named Tim Duncan, Steve Nash, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade,Carmelo Anthony, or Kevin Garnett since MJ.

Oh, my team is the Lakers.

Kobe Bryant is the best player never to win any sort of MVP.

That's the highest compliment I can give him at this point.

Duncan? Nash? Dwyane? Garnett? Hell, Chauncey? MVPs. LeBron? ROTY. 'Melo? O.K., that's just a personal opinion, so I have nothing to back it up.

But Kobe? His 'ROTY + MVPs Trophies Room' is as decorated as the 'Suns Championship Trophies' room.

^ Too easy.

I didn't say Kobe sucks, so there goes the argument 'I guess you think everyone except Jordan, Olajuwon, or Malone sucked.'

Next up: 'ROTY doesn't matter. Brandon Roy won it and Magic didn't. Does that mean Roy > Magic.' If Roy's career was somewhere close toMagic's, but Roy had an ROTY and Magic never did, then I would be more than willing to agree that Roy > Magic.
So that really only leaves a very simple question.
After winning ROTY, did Roy have a career similar to Magic's?

By 'similar career to Kobe', do you mean 'dropped 81 like Kobe'?

Well, no... they haven't.

But if by 'similar career' you mean 'careers that similarly tear up the league', then... yes, they have.

In my opinion.

stop all this hatin. Y so many people hate on kobe i do not know. Congrats to him on adding to his spactacular career. A great player

Eff Kobe, this record is pretty much irrelevant since it's gonnabe broken by Lebron by 2013. He dont get no props, +%!% Kobe.

^
Well, if that's the case, your posts are as irrelevant as this record since they pretty much contribute to nothing ever since you started posting inS&T.

Okay, I am CONVINCED that ANY thread with Kobe's name in it will end in a debate/ argument and or a Jordan comparison... GUARANTEED, lol. For some reason, son's name draws hate. Congrats to my fav player on the milestone.

OD hatred

he dropped f***ing 81 points in a game. he is the best player in the post-Jordan era period.

cmon that's your response. shaq is the best player since jordan retired BAR NONE (most dominating too) until 3 years ago. kobe has been the best playerthe last 2-3 years only.
it has been: 1) shaq, 2) duncan, 3) kobe.

y'all know duncan has more all-nba both offense and defense than kobe right?

I enjoy how you put Wade, Melo, James, and Nash on therebut you fail to put Shaq. Wow

^ Since Jordan retired... ONLY counting those years since Jordan retired... I don't consider Shaq in the running for my title 'Best in the Game.'

I challenge anyone to show how he should be in the running. Kobe's hot NOW, but Shaq isn't. Earlier in this post-Jordan era (which only ended 4 yearsago), Shaq was more dominant than Kobe. But he's not now.

Over the ENTIRE COURSE of the last 4 years... since Jordan retired... the post-Jordan era... why do I have to explain these kinds of things to you guys?

Y'all fail so hard and so consitently at reading comprehension.

Over the ENTIRE COURSE of the last 4 years... since Jordan retired... the post-Jordan era... I think Duncan, LeBron, Carmelo, Wade, Nash, and Garnett have beenthe most consistently skilled.

Wade is garbage

. Offensively, Kobe > Melo and Nash. The only playersI would put above Kobe is TD and KG. Kobe Bryant is the most prolific offensive player post Jordan Era

exactly, those guys put up 3 great seasons. shaq won 4 rings, an MVP (and should be more), easily the most dominating force the L has seen when MJretired...

we're talking about that jordan??? then who cares. the post jordan-era started (that jordan was the GOAT) when he left in 96. the jordan that left thegame was a dominant player who played on another stratosphere. shaq has been the only guy who has even seen that stratosphere. nobody else has. what shaq didin 99-2003 is more dominant that what anybody has done since then, including his last 4 years which have been average.

i don't like his antics but to be able to achieve 20,000 points in the manner that he did it is amazing. respect.

Well, that's what I consider the post-Jordan era. I mean, when I hear 'post Jordan'... call me stupid, but when I hear 'post Jordan', Ithink 'after Jordan'.

'Post Bulls-era Jordan' = after the Bulls-era of Jordan's career.

So I don't know who even began this post-Jordan argument, but since I'm the one getting flak for it, I'm just clarifying that 'post-Jordan'to me has only been 4 complete seasons.

No love for Timmy D?

Post Jordan, most dominant player would go to Shaq and Timmy D in my opinion.

But in regards to Kobe, I believe he is the best complete player in the league right now. Hell, even LeBron said it.

^ I said Timmy D the first time, then just forgot him as I continued responding.

First thing I said in the thread: After the Jordan era, Kobe is the best player not named Tim Duncan, Steve Nash, LeBronJames, Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, or Kevin Garnett since MJ.
