Let's not get too far into this conversation for the sake of avoiding an all out derailment, but I used to be into J's and older SB's ruined J's for me. Only a couple pairs really stand out for historical reasons and simplicity (example: BC3's). Other than that, SB all the way!

Haha yes let's not completely detail the thread. I've noticed that 95% or so of my SB purchases have all been pairs I had, wanted, or liked before my 2011 sneaker hiatus. With JB all I'm interested in are the same, pairs I had, wanted, or liked. I dip into a good number of brands now (NB, Asics..etc).
So I figured with a good number of guys here, the nostalgia factor is there too, I'll always love the Nike Dunk.

With SB, not much has caught my eye this year. Corks are building hype so I may steer clear, De La lows and BttF are looking good, and a few others. Mainly searching for the older releases.

BC3's are staples for sure. I think for me, for recent releases, NB ruined quality of every brand for me..
Older SB quality is something else, I love how I can wear a 10+ year old shoe and not have it crumble under my feet.

I know most of you do not like these but i finally pulled the trigger on them and I think they are a dope summer sneaker.

I've always thought they were nice...just not $90+ nice.

 
If the corks were low I might consider them. Not liking the high version.

I'm not sure how she makes money off her GR sales but I've gotten a few steals from her . Never paid more than $9 for shipping from her either.

Lol. I cant believe people are skeptical to the point of not buying because they offer good prices. We're not talking about J's...these are SBs.

 
Official release for the Corks is this Saturday here in Japan but was able to get them today.  I love these.

Yea; most of my kicks from my adolescent years are long gone. I didn't start collecting until my finances were right, which happened to coincide with the capping of my feet growth. My BIGGEST worry is when I decide to start having a family (which will be in a year or two); I can't tell you how many collection posts I've seen go up for sale cuz of feet swelling due to pregnancy

They WILL grow. However, it wasnt that dramatic. During pregnancy you'll probably only wanna wear toms or flip flops if you live in a warm place. That last trimester your feet may swell. Once you have the baby it goes back down, but my feet are def wider now. I was a solid 8.5 mens (10 wmns) pre-pregnancy. Now I'm a solid 9. If your older shoes are already broken in then you should still be able to fit them-I can. I just don't buy any new 8.5s. All my post pregnancy kicks are a 9 unless it's a Jordan 7 or something b/c those run a half sz big.

Surprisingly a lil more than half my collection is still Jordan's. I grew up in the Midwest 2 hours outside of Chicago tho, my earliest memories of sneakers in general are Air Jordan's. SBs have always sort of represented the "Florida/ retirement" stage of my sneaker collecting.

It's a really chill scene with very lil hype outside of the occasional release.

Plus I save so much more money now with quality sneakers.
