Wow at most of these comments. Some people just don't know differences between certain running shoes.

If you know your foot type (arch) and stride, you should go from there. Neutral runners, stability, and cushioned are the main three. Performance ______ is an added category along with a +designation.

In my opinion from what i've seen in regards to numerous reviews, any item over $90 has a decent value for you. It gets to a point where some of them compare almost too much. But you need to know what you're looking for in regards to shoe type to find that ideal group to choose from. It's much different than other genres where the value doesnt necessarily come from the price, but with running shoes, you really do get a value in the price you pay.

I take you if you are doing fine in basketball shoes, I would go with a neutral based shoe. The vast majority of Nike shoes are just generically based on a neutral foot type (high arch).

The value comes in finding 2-3 year old models that used to retail at $130 and getting them at $80 on clearance as the new stuff is pushed in. A lot of the new stuff is not that much better or advanced to warrant a $50 increase in price.

Most of the Free models are neutral based. Lunarglides are stability, I believe. along with the eclipse. Vomeros are neutral. Zoom structures are stability. Nike definitely has some decent runners. Other brands will bring your search into the dozens of models to choose from.. Good luck

also another factor to look at is your size: height and weight. than can have a lot to do with how much cushioning you actually need.

Then another thing is do you over or under pronate. Any good running store will be able to help you out with picking the best shoe for you and not be trying to screw you over.

I prefer to run in Lunarglides over the AM2011. It is more flexible and low to the ground. Not to mention lighter. Can't go wrong with the Lunar lineup.

Go to a proper running store, get your feet measured correctly.

Be open to the fact that Nike might make the coolest looking running shoes, but not the best performing running shoes.

get a pair of adidas climacool ride, been using it for almost a month.

The cushioning is on point, and my feet doesn't heat up a lot (i live in a tropical country).

Before, i used to run on kobes, and after each run, the arches on my foot always hurt.
Now, it is a thing of the past. The s
*%! is also very flexible and light(lighther than the lunars)

There are a ton of good shoes out there to run in, most NOT made by nike. BUT you have to run in what you're comfortable in. Right now, my running rotation is Nike Structure Triax, LunarGlide 1 and Asics GT 2150. Some good shoes can be found for cheap. I found a pair of Nike Moto Maxes at Marshalls for 60 that I wear casually, but a couple of my friends use for their running shoes. I need a shoe with more support than the Moto gives, so it works for casual wear, but wouldn't be right for my feet for running the 4-6 miles I run at 4-5 times per week. Tried them a couple of times, and decided that they would be better suited for casual/weight training days.

If your in L.A, hit up Nike Town Beverly Hills. They got a treadmill there. I believe they still let you run there with whatever shoe you want.

Lunar Glide..I still have the first released version. they are pretty beat up since I have ran close to 100 miles in them in the last year and a half. still comfortable as the first day i started running in them though.

from Nike I like the Vomero 5, haven't tried the 6 yet but good improvements were made.

you may not want to hear this but I have had the best experience with the Brooks Adrenaline. The Adrenaline 11 now has the same DNA cushioning as the higher end Trance and Glycerin, and its an amazing shoe priced at 99.99 msrp.
