OFFICIAL HOCKEY THREAD: NHL, KHL, NCAA, IIHL

started planning my annual road trip to catch the bruins on 2-3 games with my best friend. looking at ONE the following:

October: Wings, Habs, and Sabres
November: Leafs, Habs
January: Stars, Avs
February: Blues, Hawks

definitely want to catch a game at the Joe before it closes, but that's not happening for a couple years still, right? we're leaning towards the January or February trips. we're doing that whole, "watch your team play in every opposing arena" thing. there's a couple monster west coast trips that would be awesome but doesn't work out this year with deadlines at work.

Do October and just skip the sabres hahaha

But between jan/feb, I would go Feb

 my buddy said the same thing about skipping the sabres

that MTL game in October is the first meeting since Lucic threatened to take lives...should be fireworks

I'd save Wings, Canadiens, and Leafs for one trip when you have a little extra time. Montreal, especially, is such an amazing city to be in as a tourist. If you're late 20's like me, you're just backing out of the club scene. But they have some great night life for all walks.

Flames sign Sam Bennett :D I see him playing preseason and the minimum amount in NHL before being sent down to Adirondack.
Leon Draisaitl for ROY.

I want to see United Center and the Shark Tank sooner than later.

That's a good point. Hockey HOF in Toronto as well.

Atmosphere at the Tank is pretty damn wild. Hit it for a Kings game if possible. United Center for sure a must.

Went with my ex in college to Tampa Forum. Joint was dead.

You think Tampa was bad, try Phoenix

Was there over Christmas about 5 years ago with the fam, and we decided to go to a Coyotes game. 10 minutes before puck drop we walk up and we were able to get tickets 2 rows behind the bench :smh: still to this day the best seats I've ever had for a sporting event

Tried so hard to get some of my friends to go to a Tampa game several months back. The Texas Rangers were playing the Rays and the Stars were playing the Lightning the same weekend I was in town from Dallas with work friends. Tried to get a double-header going with games in back-to-back nights but ol' girl from work that is dating my buddy from work wasn't having it. Almost made a solo play to go to both.

Still trying to see games in other cities (even if the Stars aren't playing)...got a prime opportunity with this current job, just need to find some people that are down to go to games with me (almost went to one in Columbus, but work friends were being dumb and didn't wanna go out in the cold).

Deadset, hit me up if you end up coming through Dallas. Definitely wanna buy you a few beers if you come through.

Chill. I dont believe that for a second. Although he clearly has the teammates to do so. Druin >

I know you think hes the next Malkin I jus dont see it yet. Hes better than i thought though and gunna be a big time player jus not the best overall rook.

lol okay man
I know your whole Calgary and Edmonton thing, but seriously, I really like Leon and Michael Dal Colle out of all the prospects in this class.

Yandle, Ekman-Larsson, and Boedker are worth the show.

Know the feeling. "Babe, wanna hit the Trop? Always wanted to see the Rays." Her answer, No one goes or cares. Well thanks.

Yeah I got Leon being the best out of the group too, but I'm happy with Bennett as well. I think Reinhart is gonna be the weakest of the top 5

HOF is a fun time. Didnt see a game while I was visiting Toronto tho

On the other hand, Montreal had the best environment I've ever seen at a hockey game. Live band to play during stoppages, playing against the Leafs, and it was hockey night in Canada. Even more fun than my trip to the Joe.

you didn't miss anything.

the leafs environment is ******, seeing a hockey game there isn't particularly interesting or exceptional. you can skip that.

Montreal on the other hand is like a pilgrimage to mecca.

Same as Calgary. Rowdy in the top bowl, but too many corporate seats.

Had no clue...but it all makes sense as to why he's such a beast w/ the hands...

makes sense

can't wait for him to go at dale weisse and get suspended for 5 games this coming season  :smh:

Montreal slowly destroying their relationship with the biggest star the franchise has seen since Patrick Roy.

2016 PK Subban unrestricted free agency should be fun.

Not sure why they're ******* around with him. If I heard correctly, they are more than 3 mil apart. SMH. They want to have him make Marc Staal money...Subban's camp, for good reason, sees otherwise.

Oh well, I hope this plays out the way I want and he's in a Caps sweater in 2 seasons. :pimp:

*All jokes aside, like I said before, I would LOVE to see PK in a city like LA/CHI/NYC. This man SHOULD be the face of the league. NHL has something great here and should market him beyond belief. You want to expand your game to different groups of people *cough* minorities *cough*? PK is the guy who should be leading that charge.

Exactly. They dont want us signing up n numbers... Black players are flourishing. Pk. Iggy. Simmer.emer. ward etc. Said it when the bridge deal was signed. Hell never get the respect he deserves particuarly from that organization he needs to let his love affair with the fans out of this and bounce. Not gunna harp on race issue but the guy jus won a norris then took u to the ECF... What else so u want? No reason in the world hes not a top 5 paid defenseman n the league.
