Wasn't intentional? ehh
Someone should've stuck up for Tanger and not Kunitz
Look at the replay...puck was at Letang's skates...obviously a penalty should have been called because of the slash/trip. However, you know good and well that in the offensive zone, Ovechkin is ALWAYS looking for his shot...no matter where he is on the ice. Unfortunately, he missed and Letang got the worst of it by crashing into the boards. The only intent Ovechkin had was trying to get a shot on goal.
Funny how Letang comes back and he ends up being completely responsible for KILLING the Pens by taking a moronic penalty in the closing minutes of the game.
I have to say I have always taken a dim view on coaching and how much it matters in hockey.
but Caps went from bottom 5 possession team to top 10 in corsi close without that much personnel change. I guess I have to credit trotz.
It's all about the system.
Oates' philosophy wasn't conducive to puck possession, or winning hockey.
This is a good breakdown of everything that was wrong w/ Oates as a coach:

Forgot to mention that some loser also threw beer on Ovechkin when he was leaving the ice last night.
