OFFICIAL HOCKEY THREAD: NHL, KHL, NCAA, IIHL

Not really a hockey fan but ever since I got stationed in North Dakota I'm 20 mins from the best college hockey team in the nation. The games are always packed and the stadium is beautiful. I went to the trophy celebration last night and I was probably the only black person there

In the state?

Yea...I LOVE college hockey. I used to go to UMass-Amherst games all the time.

U and Okposo

By the way...I heard things are terrible at Barclays for Islanders games as far as relations between the fans and some of the people who work in the arena (security, concessions, etc.)

I know a lot of players aren't fond of playing there...mostly because the majority of the players still live on LI and the practice facility is out there as well. I think Calvin DeHaan is the only guy on the Islanders who actually lives in the city. What the team has done is rent out a grip of hotel rooms near by for the players to rest in before games. It's been a transportation/logistical nightmare for a lot of them.

TBH as a new fan I hate the old fans.

Im in a fan group on facebook to sell tickets for games that we dont go to and they complain about everything.

They didn't want the team to move but think contributing to a team is waiting for tickets to reach 5 dollars before the puck drops then buying tickets on Stubhub. Thats part of the reason why they left the island.

So when you go to Barclays they arent used to dealing with city people so they are always complaining about the security or the food attendants etc.

Went to find some quotes if anyone is interested. Here are some quotes from some guys not from the island

This is a dumb question but you ******s ***** about Barclays non stop! So I made my first visit to Barclays last night. Granted, it was a meaningless game, and I went with a bunch of Flyers fans (who are blithely predicting a 5-game win over the Caps). I don't see where all the hatred comes from. Of course, of course, I loved the Barn, but progress must pro-gress. I sat up in 218, I could see the entire ice surface. Customer service was great ( I left some tickets for another member of this group), the food options ok. My son got to ride on the Zamboni between the 2nd & 3rd periods..of course my phone decided to die before I could get some pics. We got in and out with no problem. I look forward to going back for a late-round playoff game.

I love how the islanders team store in Barclays Center had a lot of playoff merchandise....NOT!!!! They had one stupid shirt that wasn't even being displayed...all folded up on top of a shelf....

Lol It's been awhile we gotta catch up on Xbox man I'll join your chat one night. Should be a great series to enjoy. You going to any games ? I think you said passed on playoff tickets package but I'm sure you'll attend a single game

Its been ages bro, we need to run a few matches in something just to catch up.

Our series will be tough; I agree that it will take 6 but we will be victorious my good sir.

I'm going to every single playoff game; I would have passed on playoff tickets if I didnt renew my season tickets as they would want the entire playoff balance due on day 1

I hate every team that isn't Vancouver and cannot bring myself to cheer for anyone else.

That said, I wouldn't be opposed to Luongo shoving a SC ring in the face of a few fair-weather Canuck fan's faces that wanted him out.

That's also a good point. And how funny would Leafs fans be if Kessel won a cup?

lol to be honest that won't phase me.

We needed ol' donut eater out regardless.

Kadri + Reilly signing 6-yr deals. Kadri $4.5 AAV / Rielly $5 AAV.

decent signings by Lou, Shanny and Babs.
