***OFFICIAL FILA THREAD***

Keep it classic and OG, why can any company simply replicate the same shoe model exactly how it was made 20 years a go, I dont get it, IMO it will sell more trust me.

Would it even matter at this point trent? The Nike/JB sycophants are simply not interested in anything else and the reality is that FILA product is moving only with extremely deep discounts regardless of build quality.

I'm venturing that at this point FILA opted for the patent leather because it must be cheap vs. the other materials and the reflector must be part of a similar batch used for other '97s.

It would take a massive brand overhaul to get people interested in them again. Right now they are Payless/Shaq brand status. Its possible but would cost lots of money and time which I doubt the owners would invest.

By shortening the height once again on the shoe it forces the design to change.

Pretty much just them being lazy. Maybe next time they will get it right
 
man in dissecting the white black fila og retro they really butchered that shoe

the side white plate with the two holes is supposed to be painted black on the very top underneath where they placed the black patent leather strip

the black patent leather strip is supposed to be a shiny silver material

also i believe the top of the tongue is supposed to be mesh

and we aleady know about the dark bike reflector fila logo

the first time they retroed the fila 96 it looked very bad almost fake so this being the first time the fila 97 is retroed they will probably get it right next time


right now it looks like the white navy red colorway is most truest to og form despite the red bike reflector logo

its kind of odd that on the white navy red colorway the cut of the patent leather is thicker than the og but on the white black colorway its the correct cut. go figure

i think ima cop the white red navy since its dirt cheap right now then wait for the white black to go on sale

Yup it's a wrap for FILA - we'll see the usual suspects (96s, etc..) but forget about anything else that's never been reissued before.

Plus patent leather, no silver reflective trim, no 2A, just way too many changes that are not necessary. Will still buy them, when they hit the deep discounts.
