SUITS APPRECIATION VOL USA

thanks for the answer.
I'm kind of surprised, I would've thought Harvey and Jessica would earn much more.
I remember something like Harvey saying, that he has a 10 000 dollar hour rate, which would be around 20 million on an annual basis, I suppose he was just joking.

The rate at which they're billing clients has nothing to do with the amount they actually earn. For example, Mike's work may be billed to a client at $150 - $500/hour, but he will earn his salary of $160,000 no matter how many hours he actually works (which is presumably anywhere from 1600 - 3000 hours at a big firm in NY).

Harvey could have been joking, or the show is just off the mark (no one bills out at $10,000 per hour). A senior partner at a firm may be billed out to a client at $500-$1000/hour, but ultimately, as a partner, they just end up profit sharing with the others in the partnership.

Mike wouldn't be making that much first year.. Louis is a senior partner.. that doesn't automatically make him an equity partner.. so Harvey and Jessica may still make more than him

Mike would likely be earning $160,000 as a first year, which is the standard rate for a firm like Pearson Hardman. When compared to real firms in NY, there are a couple litigation shops that pay slightly more than that, and a bunch of firms that pay below that, and the top Vault firm which pays significantly more than that, but PH doesn't seem to fall into any of those categories.

wow, those are still some decent salaries, it seems like an ivy league school is a good investment...

Thanks for the info!!

mike: $146-180,000

Rachel: $70-85,000 (maybe up to $100,000 depending how long shes been there)

Louis (now that he's a senior partner) Harvey & Jessica: about a million/million plus

Are we still in Mike's first year?

def not $20 mil.

jessica easily is a multi millionaire though.  but the storyline is that the firm has been struggling financially. that's why i said about a million.

You're mistaken.  First years at top firms in NY make around minimum $120,000 to max 190+ starting. Mike is at one of the "best" firms which i have friends working at. They made $146-180,000 starting.

MasterZik i believe in the universe of the series it is still Mike's first year.

Louis is a fan of Game of Thrones, might've been his inspiration for that threat. A fight between him and Hardman would be entertaining.

 good to have you on board with Suits :pimp:

Is there any way to see this season's previous episodes? I saw the season opener and haven't been able to catch another since.

Need a DVR...:smh:.

I think it's a time we get a Jessica centric ep. I need to know more of her motivations, plus she's fine as ****

I really don't get her reluctance to make Harvey a named partner. Does she see him as a threat that much? Does she think he's still not ready? Is she just petty and doesn't see him as an equal? or don't want him to think they're equals?

Very good ep but I don't really care for Mike warring with this new chick. The Hardman stuff was really good. Don't know about this apparently gay British dude merging with the firm though but I'd welcome this chick Harvey smashed as a new cast member.

There is very little talk about other partners, I'm surprised that there aren't other senior partners at PH, whom would also want their name on the wall.

With the bad press they've gotten lately they probably don't want their names on it especially with money issues

I've noticed but have been okay with it for now.

Guess they just don't want to pay more actors to play interesting partners cuz I know the writers can create the interesting characters. They seem more focused on 1st years or anybody not on the partner level.

I can cite a show like The Good Wife or even Boston Legal that had a varied cast of partners in a law firm that all play cool role. I want to say it'd be a little late now for a few partners to just pop up and be really intriguing. The show now would just need reoccurring guest stars.

Cant be the season finale already :smh:

If I didnt already know that this was essentially part 2 of season two, I would wonder why this is the season finale already as well. But this season has been 16 episodes. There was just a few months between episode 10 and 11.

Its been an incredible season. :pimp:

Yesterday was a mediocre filler episode. One of the few ever on this show thus far. Looking forward to a big finale

Mike continues to act like a little bia every episode. Stop making everything difficult for yourself and just work together with the new 5th year. He acts like he's the only one who is supposed to do good work on cases.

Good to see Louis trying to help Rachel out. Sucks that she legitimately didn't get into Harvard Law. Not sure what her options are now.

Not a fan of Louis lying to her.

I know it was hard to tell her the truth, but I'm sure it would of hurt a lot less for her to know that she just got beat out by better candidates. It would motivate her to do even better at her job, and keep working hard.

Now he just made her feel like she deserved it and got screwed. It probably messes with her mind, she probably wont even want to work as hard anymore because she feels like she has no chance. :smh:
