Lol @ the so called "messages"

In what way are the messages in those songs lol worthy?

You guys try too hard.
Yeah man. Bleached *** holes and being richer than Ray J is modern Shakespeare. You're right.

Carry on.
Take a seat bruh. He was saying why people like Kanye over street rappers if neither are good lyrically, and I said I like the message and named specific songs. Plus the production is way different on a street rapper's songs and Ye's.

You just wanted an excuse to complain about the bleached ******** lyric for the millionth time.

I mean..... That bleached ******* lyric was pretty bad, that crap was on par with " I party with weirdos, yea hov yea hov"

I respect everyone's opinion but it's 2016. Do you really expect Kanye to still be making music like College Dropout/Late Registration? There's a reason 'Ye is still relevant, he knows how to adapt his style and appeal to a larger audience that's why all of his albums have at least gone platinum (including Yeezus). That's a rare thing. He can keep his old style and possibly be a Jada -- respected lyrically but no mainstream appeal -- I don't think you'd have Gen Zers looking forward to an album from a dude 39 years old year old.

I've only spun it twice but I think it's hard for a 2016 album. It'll have little replay value like everything these days though.

You want his old ****? Buy his old albums.

He could have definitely kept the same beats and at least had MBDTF or WTT level lyrics.

And still been successful.

And Kanye has always had mainstream appeal even on his "most" lyrical albums.

It's Kanye. He could fart Acapella for ten songs and still go platinum.

I roc heavy with the album. Definitely not as cohesive as it could've been but whatever. Lyrics are borderline comical but thats Ye. Chance has the best verse on the album IMHO

Even if Ye's not good lyrically, the songs have messages. Wolves, Real Friends, Ultralight Beam, etc get across different ideas.

Street rappers like you said never say anything. It's the same thing being yelled by a different gimmick rapper every year.

Yeah, that's just not true. Common misconception. Ye has tons of songs where he talks about absolutely nothing. Stunting raps and fashion raps. Same thing all rappers talk about.

Street rappers can have substance too. I'll even go on the limb that a lot of them have more substance than someone like ye. A Jeezy/Future/Wop/Gotti/Boosie be talking bout some real relatable situations....but to most people, it's just received as trap rap and nothing more. And of course they can also make the drugs/money/street raps etc as well. ****** just pick and choose.

Ye can get by on good production and shtty lyrics. But street rappers get criticized for what is seen as simple lyrics and great production.

Irony.

Irony.

It's because 90-95% of them lame street rappers you mentioned rap about killing people over and over again. Super negative
lyrics with zero substance. Ye never rapped about killing anybody nor selling tons of drugs. I'll take Ye any day over some
corny non creative drug rap.

At the end of the day, all rappers recycle topics. What ya'll arguing about is irrelevant.

Y'all going in on Panda dude cloning Future , while Young Thug is flourishing, eating off lil wayne's whole style and nobody saying nothing , smh

Listening now and on Low Lights...The production is top quality which was to be expected, that bleached ******** line

Yea but nobody's claiming "beff fend" is the record of the year with his autistic sounding ***

After my first listen i'll say very good production along with horrible subpar, borderline corny lyrics by Kanye. Like he always does, he is influenced by those around him, and in this case the new school rappers like Chance, Thug, Post Malone  and company have influenced him for the worse.

I'm sure some folks will like it, but for a lover of MBDTF and Graduation this album is disappointing.

On the bright side, once the instrumental version comes out I'm hoping for some other rappers to jump on and make better use of these tracks.

TLOP half baked

Needed another 2-3 months of fine tuning

He ruined Wolves. His voice was raspy on it.

Need a Sia, Vic, Frank Ocean only version
