OFFICIAL Ye fka "kanYe West" x G.O.O.D. Music Thread - ¥$ (AKA YE X TY DOLLA SIGN) - VULTURES (NOW AVAILABLE WOWWWW)

Somebody needs to explain to me why this kid is famous. I've tried looking into it but he just seems like a weird *** kid with the IQ level of a brick that thinks of himself as a fashion icon because he wears those terrible *** Kanye clothes

I ain't exactly a fan of homie either, but Ian Connor isn't meant to stir up the 25+ crowd. he's a fashion Icon to the teens & has a very strong holding in that demographic. He branded himself and it has turned into having relationships with 3 of the biggest stars in rap, while not even being musically inclined. Whether i like his style or not you have to respect someone being able to demand that much interest by simply being themselves

MCHG and Yeezus were both awful albums. I mean awful. I wish they didn't release. I love when that album is brought up to Kanye, he looks so regretful in every recent interview. Almost embarrassed.

Y'all giving Kanye too much credit for his Rocafella days. He wasn't producing their hit singles and it was usually a few songs off each album. Those beats were easily replaceable.

I'm still trying to figure out how Travis Scoot became popular. He's basically the accepted version of Soulja Boy. His look, raps, style, beats are all stolen. I guess because Kanye took him in, he's accepted. If Kanye took in Soulja Boy, people would love him too.

See there's a difference between stating an opinion and pure hating... Ye/Just Blaze helped create Blueprint and literally changed the sound of Rap for the next 3-4 years. College Dropout came out on Rocafella and completely changed the perception of what a successful mainstream album could sound like. Anyone who's production style changed rap can't be boxed in as being replaceable

I give more credit to bink and just than Kanye

Am I the only one in the universe who thinks MBDTF was overrated as hell?? Not a bad album by any means, but not a classic like seemingly everyone thinks.

Are we talking about Kanye's solo albums or other Rocafella albums like Young Gunz, Bleek, Beans, Free and SP? I'm referring to the other albums on Roc, not Kanye's.

I don't think about Kanye when I think Rocafella. Kanye kind of joined late and when they were on the way down. Kanye's career took off and he helped keep Jay afloat but Roc crashed and burned.

MBDTF is my favorite Kanye album. I've been listening to Kanye since day 1. His wack mixtapes and random appearances like The Madd Rapper.

i find it hilarious that you somehow managed to leave Jay-Z albums out of the discussion of Rocafella , not to mention Kanye came in 2001 and produced on Blueprint, and most of the projects thereafter.

Rocafella didn't hit their complete Prime until After Kanye/ Cam/ SP was formed.... Kanye was there & instrumental in ALL of that. when he came in Rocafella was just about to hit it's peak. it wasn't until after the black album that the Roc lost steam

Rocafella highest selling album is vol 2, tell me what song Kanye produced on that album

Kanye and Just joined The Roc late but between 01-05 they created a sound for the whole roster and changed the game period. You can't give credit to one and knock the other. That don't make even sense cuz they both were making great beats and had pretty much the same amount of material. Neither one of those dudes are replaceable.

in 98 the only people with albums on Rocafella were Christion, Dj Clue & Jay-Z........ so unless you associate those two as household names of Rocafella... it's safe to say that ain't there prime homie

I'm not even gonna talk the obvious stuff he did with Jay, Kanye worked great with Beans and Cam to.

Y'all telling me these beats are replaceable? **** touches your soul.

Kanye is easy to hate on, as seen in this thread..and  dam near possible to ignore. Don't deny the man his influence.

ASSus over late registration ?????

I knew that most people will have a different opinion about late registration

It's a great album of course, but I like his other albums more. Was really tough to decide, if I should put it over or under Yeezus

Just blaze ain't Kanye....jay z still "riding kanyes #wave" as y'all like to say  WTT[emoji]128064[/emoji]

He's was being generous :pimp:

HOV outshined Kanye on every song on WTT

last time I checked MCHG outsold ASSus

That Samsung deal saved that album

So the song with Justin Timberlake and "Tom Ford" didn't happen?

"**** withmeyouknowIgotit"?

"Picasso Baby" didn't get a Grammy nom for Best Video? And lose to JT/Jay Z "Suit And Tie"?

Ignorance is bliss
Kanye west the biggest rockstar out right now

Which means what exactly? Twitter beef?

Let's get a great album. Nothing else matters.

We've talked about this ad nauseum, but New Slaves was nominated for best rap song and Yeezus was nominated for Best Rap Album as well. I get you're just listing Jay's accolades cuz of the topic, but Yeezus got award recognition as well.

And Jay didn't lose best video at the Grammy's, they don't recognize videos. Those were the VMAs you mean. Not making a big deal, just clearing it up since it's a discussion.

There is absolutely a Best Music Video category at the Grammy's.

Y'all really need to do your homework. The information is online. All you have to do is LOOK before you type. Being loud and wrong is not a good look. And that's a major problem with many of you.

All that blah blah about Yeezus has nothing to do with the point I was making. Dude said the Samsung deal "saved" the album. The album performed beyond that. And I've already called it underwhelming, but it is what it is. People bought it. People genuinely liked songs on it. Period.

You can type your little heart out about Yeezus and metacritic etc. I know all about critics. Publications. Publicists. Agendas etc. Notice how the user score is lower?

I'm not even going to get into all of that. I don't need to. You don't need to look far to see how Yeezus was received. But that's not the point. I know what I think about it. So that's all I need to go by. What "critics" think is irrelevant to me. Partially because I know how that game works.

But I guess you had to let some things go/felt some type of way since you responded to me even though I wasn't even really talking about Yeezus at all over the last few pages other than to say both it and MCHG were underwhelming and that I can't wait for Waves so we can STOP talking about Yeezus
