in my experience rain never affected my raw denim that much. if the indigo does bleed a little it shouldn't be enough to effect the fading, it should only add character

I remember when 501 Raws were good as is. When it rained and you had some kicks you liked, it was like the worst feeling ever. You knew both would be getting worked by the end of the day. Haha.

The GQ Baldwin collab Selvedge is the TRUTH... Fit is on point (somewhere between skinny and slim at the waist and thighs but has an awesome taper from the knees down) and its very thick and rigid, but breaks in quick...

Oh and for $38, I aint complaining...

I have the 1969 selvedge skinnys, but I'd love to check the Balwins out. I keep hearing good things about them.

Can we get a link? Really need another selvedge denim.

dont put too much thought into this. just wash when you feel like its time for a wash. that 6 month period of no washing is overrated. it all depends on how hard you wear your jeans. people who wear their pairs hard (biking, hiking, etc) will probably wash them earlier than people who has other pairs in rotation/only wears 2-3 times a week.

fades may not appear in the first wash, or the second wash, but thats okay. keep wearing them. sooner or later, you will notice a difference.

if you dont want to wash it but you feel like its getting a bit loose, then soak them.
Yeah people tend to get hung up on the "rules" of washing and those are the people who often end up with underwhelming progression. I remember a guy on SF that had Unbrandeds and washed them like every week early on  but he wore them pretty hard and the fades were pretty impressive.

Ralph Lauren Denim & Supply has some nice reasonably priced distressed jeans, no idea how they fit tho
Anyone know some good distressed jeans I can find online?
Reasonably priced yes. But I wouldn't say that D&S jeans are "Good".

-Not sure if they're still around, they might have been limited, but a couple of years back I was able to get a (surprisingly) good pair of distressed selvedge denim from Abercrombie and Fitch.

Posted this a while back, but for maybe the past 2 years I've only worn black denim. I would like to cut my rotation down so I can really focus on wearing in some pairs but I wear them accordingly to my style & fit needs. Here goes, whaddaya think guys?

Top Row (L2R) Marc By Marc Jacobs - Dior Homme - Burberry - RRL

Bottom Row (L2R) - APC - Dior Homme - Dior Homme - Pierre Balmain

Who makes good true slim straight fit? Not boot cut like 514 or tapered. Just slim through the leg with a straight opening. Was looking at Nudie Slim Jims but the price is a little steep.

400

:smokin

$250 is steep. The Nudie Slim Jims I was talking about were $80-85.

That would probably be my max. I could never spend more than that on a pair of jeans to be honest.

I feel the same way about denim for some reason. I hate how this is such an expensive thing but i know you get what you pay for. I think I am going the unbranded route if I do the raw thing again.

I don't think you'll find any thing better for a reasonable price. I've never owned a pair of denim and supply jeans but they gotta be better then anything for Abercrombie and fitch lol I can't even shop in that store it's too dark to see the clothes, feels like I'm in a musty closet

only thing cheaper is like JC Penny's Levis lol. also, better fitting jeans tend to cost more so you can't expect to be completely happy with the fit at that price point. idk how many pairs of jeans you like to have but personally I have 3 pairs of somewhat expensive jeans I really like and that's all I really need right now. so you might wanna consider spending more on one pair as opposed to a 8 pair rotation or something like my mans with the black jeans a few post back

Lemme tell you, I was shocked! My girlfriend was working there part time at the time and she told me they had a pair of Selvedge denim. That was the only way I would have ever come across these. But this ONE pair, and probably one pair only is better than anything D&S puts out. I personally think Denim & Supply is too high priced for the quality that they output in some cases. In some cases, I don't see why someone wouldn't just pay a few dollars extra and go for RRL.

My 8 jean rotation calls for different things though. My Marcs are coated so I liked the "look" APCs are a bit looser and sit better with bulkier kicks like my Yeezys. Diors are slimmer so I can wear them with different things. My Burberry, I don't wear honestly. Can't beat RRL for a jet black selvedge in my opinion. And Balmain, I loved the biker jeans.

Trust me, you won't be disappointed with more expensive denim. I've been there time and time again, purchased Gap selvedge, J. Crew. What's the difference between 10 pairs of $50 denim or just wearing in one pair of $500 denim?

I've heard good things about acne jeans but always wondered why they chose that brand name. Just looked up it's an acronym and it's a Swedish brand.

I'm working on a tapered pair of unbrandeds right now you'll be happy with the fit and quality specially at it's price point.

So on another note I've decided to just wash my denim like any other jean and see what happens. From watching YouTube videos and reading different things I've come to the personal opinion of that fadeds depend on wear not length of time not washed. Once again my theory and I'm a test it out I feel gross not washing my denim lol.
