Got a pair of Diesel Thavar denim.

Love everything about them but I really have no idea how to handle them.

A lot of dye is still coming off on my hands and garments even after weeks of wear.

Any tips?

Check your local Gap stores. The store at my local mall was having a 35% off regular priced items sale. Picked up the Japanese raw selvedge jeans for a little over $70. Quality right on par with some jeans I've paid $200+ for.

I think someone said it on here but Gap jeans just don't fade at all. Unless you like the dark denim look, you'll sort of be defeating the purpose of wearing your denim to the ground.

Even after washing them? I have 2 pairs that have a lot of wear but haven't washed them yet.

Like tighten the leg opening? I don't really need them tighter, but the baked famous weird guy does feel like it flares out after the knee.

The shoes were some diesel hi-tops with a zipper on the side, the jeans were all the way behind the zipper too

It doesn't really flare, it just stays the same, but of course since your thighs are bigger it seems that way.

Also to clear something up, just because a jean is or is not selvedge does not mean it is good quality.

There are non selvedge jeans with great quality and there Are also selvedge jeans with terrible quality.

Just got my first pair of selvedge jeans from Unbranded the UB101, I'm on the short side (5'6") so I had them hemmed to 31".  Pretty excited to break em in and see how they turn out.  Noticed that even though they're skinny they still seem kind of loose in the thigh area and calf/leg opening.  I wear a 32 in Levis 511 so I got a 33 in these and they fit good around the waist.  Wondering if the waist will stretch much and if I could possibly size down on my next pair for a slightly tighter fit?  Also been eyeing the APC PNS or Williamsburg Garment Grand St , if anyone has them how is the fit?

Anybody have experience with 3Sixteen denim and fading? I've been working on a pair most of the summer and they really haven't faded at all. Don't wear them everyday but probably at least every other day.

You should taper those UB if everything is good in the waist. I know exactly what you mean about the lower block feeling loose. PNS will definitely have a more tapered lower block than your UB and the leg opening woll be under 7" which is good if you're looking for a more tapered fit below the knee.

Thanks man I def will. So should I go down 1 or 2 sizes for the PNS? I've heard that for APC you should size down but is the stretch that extreme?

That is what I hear anyways. It;s the way they were died. To this day I haven;t seen one pair of Gap selvedge that looked really nice even after a wash.

2 is OD for imo, 1 is sufficient for me. I'd suggest figuring out what your true waist is and then going for there. APCs stretch but the
majority is in the waist.

Some nice washes of RRL jeans are always popping up on eBay every now and then. I scooped up a couple pairs earlier today.

exactly, the waist will stretch a lot. the rest will just stretch a bit

Wassup You guys. I'm stupid new to denim, basically lived my life in Levi's 511(mums choice) then H&m jeans... I'm like 6
Flat with a 32 waist and have had the worst time finding I slim fitting jean that doesn't looks baggy past the knee. Something like a taper, would work. If anyone have any recommendations let me know would really be appreciated. Thank you.

@Jagtheman ^ Levis had/has a fit with the 511 top block, but with a tapered leg. Was called the 521 at one point but might be like the 508 now? havent bought any levis in a while though so I may be wrong

Thank you I will research that also it doesn't have to be Levi's brand. And quality denim for a reasonable price would be superb.

yeah the levis 508 is the tapered jean, fits me somewhat baggy still but everyone is different, if you don't mind spending a little more you should check out nudie there are around 10 different fits with all kinds of washes

also if you want to try some raw denim they have some on nudie, but also you can check out APC, naked and famous, ironheart, acne, john elliot, prps i'm sure there are more other members could let you know about, but it all depends on preference

Any tips for taking a pair to the tailor for the first time?
do you know the measurements you want? if not take measurements of the jeans that fit you the way you like or bring them in to the tailor to show them

I have yet to do this but have been planning on bringing a pair in soon to see how it goes

Sitting at about 15 months with these PRPS Goods & Co Barracuda's. Fades aren't very good but they're coming along.

Looking forward to cooler weather so I can really start breaking in my heavier Flat Head 2001's.
