Kobe 7 "SYSTEM" reviews

I went two and a half hours away today just to get the Sharks, and the shoe felt like $+%% when I tried them on. Big disappointment. Gonna just order another pair of VI's instead.

hear a lot of my friends who copped these saying that the 6's are more comfortable and better to ball in. I personally haven't tried any kobe's but want to try these.

Bro, these just came out a couple of months ago and we "tom'bout" outlets?

I know you're being optmistic, but it's a little too soon for outlet talks, no?

I am so displeased with the 7s. Here's what's been posted in the KB7 thread:

"So i picked up my 7s yesterday, wore them a little around the house and balled in them today...Not very impressed

.

Got rid of the bubble issue before hand, but maybe I still need to break them in? However, the inner area of my foot has something poking at it and hindered my ability to keep playing.

Floor sucks at my local gym, so traction still seems the same with the 6s."

+ the 6s are DEFINITELY more flexible and respond better IMHO. I only like these for the looks now.

Edit: Took off my socks and got a blister

exactly, I'm gonna save my money and keep playing ball in my kb6's

has anyone played in the version of these without the swapable midsoles or w/e?  I'm interested in seeing just how a "straight" Kobe VII shoe would work with full-width Zoom Air and probably better fit than the Supreme system or whatever?

the $140 pair and $180 pair are exactly the same, except that the $180 pair comes with an extra insert.

Would this not make them different though? Most of the complaints I've seen and heard stem from the removable insole, but with these wouldn't those problems be eliminated since it would have a different fit and no blistering because of the different insoles?

All low insoles are the same. After 20 minutes of balling, I noticed the arches of my left foot being poked at (this caused the blister).

KB6s > 7s in everything but traction. 6s are so flexible while 7s are just way too stiff. I highly doubt it's due to breaking them in, 6s were good from the get-go.

in both pairs you can remove the inserts. it's the exact same shoe.

Yep, been experiencing the same problem. It's the fact that the inserts have sidewalls. Which is stupid because when you walk, the sidewalls warp/fold and start chaffing the arches. I found these to be stiff also.
Wrote a little review about it here:

I have the same issue. I got the Dukes on Tuesday and played that night. Came home with nasty blisters on my right arch. I tried to play again tonight and it felt like my foot was on fire. I was crazy disappointed because they look amazing. Even more so because I am a HUGE Duke fan. The Kobe 5 Dukes are still my favorite shoe.

awesome review. the thing i liked about the lebron 8 was the cushioning so i hope these feel like that. shud get my kobe 7 soon

The play strong insert caused me to get a crazy blister right around the arch of both feet...Swapped the strongs out for the fast insert and wore them with some thick socks (All day) for a couple of days last week because apparently they need to be broken in...Hit the gym with them today and no blisters...

Terrible feeling right out of the box but once they got broken they feel fine...I think the problem is that the strong insert runs lower down the foot and causes some funky rubbing in comparison to the fast inserts which sits, for the most part, right around mid foot...Plus for some reason the play strong insert felt like it hugged the foot tighter...Bottom line for me is the fact that these needed a healthy breaking in before they could be used for play and that's not something I like having to go through...Kind of let down because these are a big step back from the VI which seemed to mold to my foot after a couple pick up games but came up lacking in the cushioning department...

I just want a Kobe VI with full length Zoom Air...If Nike would give us something like that I'd buy 100 pairs and never wear anything else...

I'm going to give these a chance for another couple weeks...If by the time that period is through there are issues, I'm going to move along and hope that the VIII's are better...The Elite's with the full length Zoom Air might be a possible winner though...Really wanting to try the Lebron 9's but the high cut of that shoe is turning me off...

Didnt really "love" the shoe either, My Major issue was the lost of flexibility in the Sole, my true favorite go to ball shoes are the V's Flexible light weight lock down and heel cup was functional.

Ok, I decided to put my attack fast under the knife.  I had issues with the zoom bag being tiny and too high off the bottom of the shoe so.......
I cut out my ZK1 heel zoom bag and placed it in my attack fast.  Wow the difference was very noticeable.  Ill update you guys about it once I play around more in them

Interesting...I still have two pairs of Kobe I's laying around with good Zoom;may have to perform some surgery myaelf
