Yep, tuck rule and Spygate are definitely one in the same. I never thought of it like that until now, but man... you sold me.

Good shot at the 49ers fans, though! Really got 'em!

No shots. Just something I noticed. Almost as if you guys feel threatened by Tom Brady's success. As if that somehow makes Joe Montana's career less remarkable.

Maybe I'm just reaching as only you guys would know for sure, but it's funny from the outside looking in.
The only reason I think you are reaching is because there has been all of ONE 49er fan in this thread making comments about the video tapes.....yet somehow that equated to a bunch of 49er fans making comments.

No hate though.  You seem to be a Raider fan that doesnt despise the 49ers and do not seem to have a problem keeping the 49ers out of your mouth (unlike your buddy).

Isn't Chester a Niner fan though?

I think its ridiculous to think that Eli would be in the Hall of Fame if he retired today. Absolutely absurd. A guy with a career 82 QBR is a Hall of Famer? A guy that has never been an All Pro Quarterback? A guy that has never been considered a top 5 QB (well, maybe this year)? Peoples standards for the HOF have become WAY too team success based.

If Eli continues the level of success he had this year, or close to it for a long career, he should be a Hall of Famer no question. But already? I disagree.

Right now, I don't think Eli has enough on his resume for the HOF. I don't think you can put a player in the HOF based off of 2 great seasons and the rest of his career being average seasons.

Realistically, I don't think Eli will get in before Rodgers and Brees. The way Brees and Rodgers have been lighting up the league the past couple years, I don't see it happening. Especially if Eli reverts back to his career 82 QB rating while the others rack up league MVPs.

unless his arm gets amputated within the next few years Eli will get in.

Here's an interesting little stat:

Since the 06-07 season, when Romo became a starte,r he has 72 INTs and 19 fumbles

Since the 06-07 season, Eli has 120 INTs and 31 fumbles

Eli has 60 more turnovers than Romo.

*puts on flame suit*

Stats are deceiving as a whole. In the nfl you need a qb that can finish and has the cojones and toughness to get the win in the fourth quarter. IMO it has been what separated Tom Brady from Peyton all these years even tho Peyton's numbers are better. Lulz the fact u even brought any stat comparing romo and Eli is laughable.

Never said Romo was better. Just thought it was an interesting stat. I'm going to state/ask one more thing and then be out this topic. Giants deserved this SB trophy and I don't wanna take away their high.

If Eli Manning were the QB of the Dallas Cowboys for the 2011 season, do they win the super bowl? Be honest with yourselves when you answer that.

On that note, enjoy fellas!

I think the fact that they beat Brady and the pats twice in the big game gets him in and Tom coughlin in. Now people know you can't count out this giant team no matter what their reg season record is. This dude coughlin must be one hell of a motivational speaker man lulz. I find it funny that people forget that our defense was non existent when we were 9-7 now all the haters are saying "" oh if my qb had that defense we could win it all"" haha too funny. 9 Tds 1 interception in 4 games in this post season. My dude Eli is clutch and showed maturity which will lead to more rings

I'm not going to front I didn't watch too many Cowboy games this season... Is that Dallas defense holding Rodgers and co to 20 points?

I say they win cause I think the packers played like crap that game. Not giving that win to the d

Did Eli?

back on topic

Eli and Romo are the same with the very critical exception that Eli has had success(twice now).
Say the Eagles won two more games this year and won the division. NY/DAL remains the same, who honestly had the better season as a QB Eli or Romo?

Giants get into playoffs as wildcard team in 2007 and win SB, don't even make playoffs in 2009/2010, get into playoffs during their last regular season game this year and win SB again.
Its great that he/they can win once they get into the playoffs, but with giants its a big if. Peyton/Brady never have this problem

If this was tail end of his career I would say probable on HoF, but since this is just the middle, I say he will make it since he has years left to play and succeed.

Vince Young has a crazy stat; close to half of his 30 something wins are comeback/final drive type wins. Does that mean
VY> Eli?

Bradshaw went to 4 Super Bowls though. Its a huge difference. (ex. Jim Kelly)

Stop it, if Eli retired right now...he's in the HOF imo. But he's not and therefore he's still going to the hall because I see him winning 2-3 more SB's if the Giants keep this core together.

The fact Cruz, Mario & Nicks are still young AND their defense was ****** up before the season even started is scary. Eli gonna mess around and become a legend.

Let's just hope these _'s keep thier guns at the crib.

Impossible to compare Terrys stats with anyone from modern era. Plus with Terry, his first few years were so bad, they helped skew his career numbers. He was a league MVP and one of the best (if not best behind Joe) big game QBs

But again, apples and oranges

Eli's gonna finish his career with 4-5 SB win's?

Calm down bro. Theres a ton of competition in the NFC that are as young or younger than the Giants...

Eli also has the NYC "factor," which works in his favor.  Joe Namath is in the HOF, and his #'s are PUTRID.  But he does have the "guarantee" to go with his SB win.  His ONLY SB win.  Eli now has two.  No matter what happens from here on out, he's in.

Well they beat you guys twice on there 2 super bowl run On your turf. Giants are pretty confident to go into anyone's backyard and winning. So until someone steps up I'm pretty confident they will win another ring before Eli retires at the least.

Three more rings though ?

Wow. Son they barely made the playoffs and they got on a hot streak. Eli is 31 he's not winning three more. Let's hope dude can make the playoffs three more times before its said and done.
