Seattle SuperSonics Thread

Celtics have always been my 2nd favorite team behind Seattle, KG has always been my favorite player, followed by Ray, Seattle's star.

We lose our home team, my two favorite players go to play on my second favorite team.

But I guess I should just quit watching basketball since my teams gone. Like I'm the only one that has ever rooted for multiple teams or for a team that's not from their city. And if the Sonics came back I'd still rep Celtics as much as I do now.

Get outta here

So you'd rep Celtics more even if the Sonics came back? Yep, you deserve a team.

Not what I said

I said I'd still rep them as much as I do now. I'd root for Seattle over them, but I'd still root just as hard as I do for Boston against every team except Seattle.

You're a lame, why do you care who I root for?

Who's your team btw? Not asking to talk @@$@ just curious to make a point of how it would feel to lose your home team.

I was born in Winnipeg, was there when they lost the Jets, I know the feeling, but they got their team back

See that's dope, and at least you understand where I'm coming from.

Not trying to start beef by calling you a lame just didn't find it necessary to call me out for rooting for my second favorite team when my home team left.

I love the Celtics and have become even more of a die hard but still it just sucks and isn't the same

And this right here is why I cannot @$#@$# stand OKC. Honestly the most annoying fans I have ever seen. OF COURSE YOU'RE GONNA SELL OUT IF THEY'RE THE NEW TEAM IN TOWN. If the Bobcats went to Oklahoma they would sell out games too. It's the only thing to watch in that boring @$# state. You're a @$#@#$# lame just like Scientific Method.

Where did all these OKC fans come from? And I mean in S&T in general. All season we didn't hear a peep out of anyone but Scientific Method and maybe one other dude (can anyone even find their team thread?), and now it's like we're overrun with them. Notice us Sonics fans are still in here, repping for a lost franchise and still contributing to NBA discussions, and ya'll can't even show up until the playoffs. As much as I get into with Scientific Method, at least the guy doesn't hide in a cave all season and he contributes to the community. Other folks show up for a few weeks out of the year, and then hibernate. That's why we can't take the OKC trolls seriously.

Flame suit on....

I already know I'm in the minority. I am born and raised in the Bay Area, but grew up a die hard Sonics, Mariners, and Seahawks fan all because my favorite players as a kid were on those teams (Kemp/Payton, Griffey, Galloway). When the Sonics got taken away from Seattle, I was devastated and angry as well. But being from the Bay Area, I guess I didn't feel the same pain people from Seattle did. I did not get the sense of the team being ripped away from my home, since I never lived there. I was a fan of the team that happened to move to a different city. I have followed OKC ever since the relocation and by default, I have been a fan since day one.

I really hope Seattle gets a team, and if they do, I will be a fan. I can honestly say, besides the Warriors, Seattle teams rank higher for me than my hometown teams. Because of my fandom to the sports teams, Seattle is by far my favorite city that I still need to visit!! Hopefully this Summer, I will make it up there!

Y'all taking this to a personal level. This is sports. Of course I don't care what you guys think, or if you don't support OKC. Why would I? Did bulls fans care about what people in Detroit thought about them? Yalls salt level is showing and its embarrassing to see. All these "your state is full of whites people, look out for tornados, boring state, blah blah blah comments are comedy and is just proof that yes YOU MAD.

Sonics fans this an that, still supporting the NBA...... Lord knows without your support the lock out would of taken place...... Cry cry cry. OKC fans have been here since day 1, matter of fact since the hornets days. If you want a cookie for your "support" come get one, but sonics fans deserve just as much as oilers fan do.

This new bandwagon is worse than the Miami one last year and I'm not just saying that cause I hate OKC, you really do just see these 'diehard' OKC fans come out of nowhere.

I hate it so much that I have to root against Durant because during that one year he was here he instantly became one of my favorite Sonics players. But this is what it has come down to, rooting against OKC because I don't want to see their FANS celebrate. Durant deserves it more than anyone but the city of Oklahoma does not.

Wait until this teams falls apart, then we'll really see how 'loyal' these fans are.

And jordan23 you sound like a little @#$@#$# kid who just started following sports. Get the @#$# back in the Jordan forum you lame.

I don't even know what you're trying to say here.

As for this troll, 155 posts and claims two relocated teams that were taken from their original cities and have only experienced success ever since. Definition of a front runner. Pathetic.

Lol, we taking this to NT posts now salty bruh?!? Lol, ok sure. Just bust out the yo mama jokes and lets call it a day. What's pathetic is your rage/hate towards another human due to sports. Say what you Want but I pay it no mind. Bottom line, sonics left Seattle for a reason, and it's not because of their abundant fan support. OKC is on the map now DEAL WITH IT, Seattle is not getting them back DEAL WITH IT, you mad bro DEAL WITH IT. One last thing, DEAL WITH ITTake this to heart if you want, but I love a good debate and take none of this personal.

likely moving to seattle in the upcoming years, would be awesome if an actual NBA team is there when I get there

As a neutral, aside from the Heat winning, I would hate to see OKC win. I know how I would feel if some +!*%+%@ bought the Pacers just to move them. I'd say they will max last 15-20 years in OKC. Once Durant/Westbook/Harden are gone, unless they continue to win people just won't show up. Its just way too small of a market.

People like OKC because Durant is a likable superstar, Russ is an exciting and explosive guard, Harden is a tremendous player with an awesome beard, and Ibaka blocks everything in sight. They're a likable team, regardless of where their playing or how they got to OKC. People coming out in the playoffs and saying "they're diehard OKC fans" is the same as any fairweather fan of another team that only shows up in the playoffs or after a big win, that's not unique to OKC.
