OFFICIAL COMIC BOOK THREAD

So dope! :pimp:

When I saw this last night I knew this would get all the X-Men fans jimmies super rustled

Forums filled with mad X-fans on the internet.

I'm not even gonna front. I'm more than likely not going to buy the series because I doubt things will get better for the X-Men/mutantkind. I don't read anything Inhumans. How can anyone trust the Inhumans when they act with hostility towards any attempts to contain the Terrigen Mist which is causing mutant genocide? I'm a ride-or-die with the mutants fam. It hurts my soul to see the X-Men like this. I don't care how uncouth Scumbag Cyclops has to be. He has my support!
Well they don't really need to be trusted. The mists are theirs and a part of their culture and rituals.

As far as the mists, nobody knows BB released them or even made the bomb. They blame Thanos. Also the mists previously didn't harm mutants so it's yet to be seen who did what to it to make them toxic to mutants. Could've been Cyclops

Thats what i was wondering...when did the inhumans get so popular.?

Last inhuman scene i saw was black bolt getting the sound smacked out of him by WWhulk

When compared the X-Men are the popular kids at school and the Inhumans are those kids that sit under the bleachers during lunch to hide from their bullies. Similar concepts here and there in terms of design, but the X-Men are simply the more successful and well-known property. More has also been done with them over the years, in and out of comics, in all honesty. All this is why so many fans have been confused at the focus Marvel has suddenly been giving to the Inhumans. Don't believe Marvel has come out with any kind of statement, but the general theory seems to be that they're doing it since they have the ability to actually use the Inhumans in their films and shows, unlike the X-Men.

Anyone read Daredevil this week with Spidey? I thought it was great. Felt nostalgic.

I went ahead and bought the Rebirth issue of Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps and I thought it was supposed to be a team book. I thought DC was like it's going to include John, Kyle, and Guy with equal importance. They got me with the okey doke. It was entirely Hal. It wasn't bad, but Hal already has an abundance of good stories. :smh:

Looking at this thread and it reminded me that I'm sitting on over 3 months of unread books. I guess I got some catching up to do

Haven't they been doing this for a while tho? Lol

Again, I have not read X-Men since maybe Messiah Complex. So I really have no clue what they are doing with them. Are the Inhumans that popular with the fans?
The Inhumans are growing in popularity due to Marvel comics push due to the expectancy of the movie which is currently pushed back out of phase 3 without a new release date currently.

Got a great writer on the main book. I assume the plan is to establish enough good concepts, characters, and stories for the studio to adapt from. They've already expa fed their #s in universe.

I assume we'll see the jump in popularity when the movie comes out after The Infinity War movies since the MCU rarely fails.

The conflict part of it all is Marvel doesn't own the movie rights to the X-Men so they don't have the same incentive to prioritize them like they do other properties. I don't think that factors in to them having yet another near extinction story cuz the X-Men are filled with mass deaths of mutants (mutant massacre, legacy virus, decimation, mutant students crucified on the front lawn, etc. Now it's just a mist making this m-pox that's wiping them out).

Twas a skrull not the real Inhuman king.

Ironically enough, this description is how the Inhumans have assumed the role mutants are suppose to have in the comics

Since so little has been done there's the potential to do a lot more.

Marvel really isn't relying heavily on what was popular since the movies have proved they can make the likes of BP, Cap, and IM more popular than they've ever been. When GOTG and Ant-Man are household names they see the chance they have to capitize on something they fully on.

Especially when in the past FOX has made it clear they're not giving up the X-Men and there has been some conflict over some negotiations in the past.

The fact that Marvel studios has split from Marvel ent. seems to not have changed Marvel publishing's approach to promote the Inhumans as they wait for the pay off with the movie.

At this point I don't even think a FOX deal with Marvel is going to change the Inhuman push in comics and the forthcoming push in the MCU.

Right now Marvel's put too much effort into pushing the Inhumans to suddenly shift gears in the event that Fox gives up the X-Men (Which I agree isn't going to happen anyways). I think the push would remain in order to get fans, old and new, hyped for the film and to give people more reading material for after the film. They've done the same with Black Panther to an extent, having him play a key role in the Hickman's Avengers/New Avengers, giving him a new title after the whole Secret War business was taken care of, and starting to reprint some of his older stories in updated volumes. Difference is of course that i'd say Panther's gotten decent coverage in the past as well. I think we're on like his 5th or 6th solo series by this point. The film just gives more incentive to do so now.

If Marvel did get the X-Men's film rights back I do think that they'd be more invested in giving the X-Men more coverage again, as they'd definitely want to get some films out there. Don't think we'd be seeing anything major in the near future however, assuming that it happened right now  Realistically they don't even have space in Phase 3 to fit the X-Men anyways, which would probably place their X-film in like 2020 or later. Of course since the Inhumans film is taking place in that same time period right now they might be able to swing it to have the 2 properties duke it out for a twist on Avengers vs X-Men, giving us Inhumans vs X-Men instead :smokin But of course Fox doesn't want that to happen anymore than Marvel and DC seem to want an Avengers vs Justice League film to happen.

Its a darn shame that these companies force Marvel's hand. I know its a business, but the X-Men have such a rich history to be treated like this :smh:.

Johnny is currently dating Medusa from what I remember, only glanced at their comics.

Fresh Like Will Fresh Like Will What have they done to the 4? Last thing I read with them together was Secret War, with Reed and Doom beating each other to a pulp right before they recreated all those universes :smokin Loved that ending.

What they've done to the X-Men seems like mercy compared to the Fantastic Four.

True, but isn't Johnny an Inhuman now?
Johnny is the amabassador for the UN and Inhumans when it comes to Inhuman/human(American) relations. He got it cuz of his experience with aliens and stuff like that while on the F4.

He's also banging Medusa now which is why he is in UNCANNY INHUMANS. He's also on the UNCANNY AVENGERS team fighting for better human/mutant/inhuman relations and at some point he was banging Rogue before he got with Medusa

This is basically true.

If the X-Men had a weaker fan base they'd probably have 1 comic  and it would probably be Wolverine.

I don't think Marvel has it out for properties they don't own the film rights to. They just deprioritize them except for Deadpool. With less X-Men books you can see with that list posted and previously with ANAD they're trying out and giving other characters and team chances.

Nah X-Men still more popular. I'm pretty sure all 3 X-team books and both Wolverine books outsell all the Inhuman books.

Inhumans aren't that popular, but Marvel will keep putting out the books. They have good books at least, so its not like they feeding us garbage, just there's just too many X-Men fans that will forever hate Inhumans.

Carol needs to google "Self-fulfilling prophecy" before she gets someone else killed by being stupid. You get a vision of your deaths by the Hulk and decide the best thing to do is for EVERYONE in the vision to show up outside this *****'s secret lab and accuse him of something he hasn't even done yet like that's not gonna piss him off? There were only two ways it was gonna end.
