My white trainers finally come today after an exchange process. Originally ordered an 8.5 but it was one of the new ones with the padding/ribbon laces so I sent it back for a 9. Can't wait to wear them
how do you know the size 9 will be the original ones? i'm trying to figure this out right now...

I ordered from a store for retail. Since the 8.5 was one of the newer ones with the padding/ribbon laces I assumed that the 9's would be the same - which they were

curious as to why only one colorway (University Red/Black) of the Flyknit Chukka was released today?...when will the Black and Gray-based colorways (non-HTM) drop?

My black and white pair came in today from run.com

I like the extra padding in the back, but these flat laces need to go.

i pulled out my flyknit racers for the first time to run in. i've been running in free run 3.0s recently, and these are definitely different in a good way. the responsiveness in the heel is ridiculous. i remember some people complaining about the laces (maybe not on this forum, i don't remember where i read that), but it didn't bother me one bit. can't wait to try the lunar flyknit 1's when they come in. the flat laces on those though....:x.

so for those who experienced the extra padded lining & the non-lining first release, can you tell a significant difference in the fit/comfort? I'd be all about the volt/teal pair and black/white release with the padding if they are better. I kinda wanna take the chance but I'm wondering if anyone has any comments of good/bad/worth it before I plunge back into the trainer realm.

Does this apply to all Flyknits?

So far it appears to. I've had the first run trainers w/out the lining, racers, chukka & flyknit 1 now, all fit the same in a size 10 for me. Racers are the lightest material-wise & stretch the most, each other pair appear to stretch some but not nearly as much. The lunar one & chukka I just received for more than just an in-store try on so I can't speak as much with them, my trainers conformed to my foot after a while & I promise they even shrunk a little, I can't guarantee that since I had to ship them back.

One thing I'll say about running in them: I had size 10.5 racers & trainers before, the size 10 was a somewhat tight fit compared to the 10.5(besides the obvious .5 size difference) the were A LOT more loose. Not a big deal wearing casually(they HAD to be tied or they'd flop off) but running was basically asking for blisters because of the foot slide caused from the material stretching + extra space. As you might've caught on to I ordered size 10s in the chukka & lunar one, I would not go 1/2 size up again from my experience.

Hope that all helps.

That helps a lot thanks.

I suppose I'll just go TTS.

Smart move! When in doubt always, always, I mean always stay true to size. I've worn a size 13 shoe since I was 13 years old and have never had to waiver once. Unfortunate for me however is that 12.5 and 13.5 are extremely rare so I usually don't have that option anyhow as a whole size difference up or down be an improper fit.

stupid question, but if I become a VIP member on road runner sports, can I buy an item right away with the VIP discount? :nerd:
