I wonder why is was difficult for them to capture zaheer the first time, considering he wasn't a airbender then.

More importantly to me, I find it to be a little unbelievable that he's a Master Level Airbender, when he didn't even have the ability to manipulate the element before a few weeks ago.

These were good episodes though. I'm liking this season more than the prior two, due to the focus on more characters, and getting to see different parts of the LOK world.

One going theory is Zaheer could've been an air acolyte in his time and that he was really immersed in Air Bending culture for years.

Agreed, especially since she doesn't even know both sides of things, and what's more had her own family issues last season that she was raging about.

That was that hurt though, left Lin crying in her room.

Man, when Lin first showed up & said that Korra needed to go back to the Capital so she could be protected from Ric Zaheer Flair & the Four Horsemen, Korra should've been said, "Yo, I LITERALLY fought the physical embodiment of Evil last season, b...is you serious?"

You'd think by now anyone rocking a Sparky Sparky Boom Man third eye tat would immediately get his powers taken away from him by the Avatar.

If we're talking raw strength it was probably Bumi.

If we're talking technical ability it was definitely Toph.

Bumi was one of, if not the strongest, at his grown man age.

Now we got a little prepubescent blind girl that could hold her own with said grown man.

Now imagine Toph's fully grown post-menopause strength.

They should have Toph pull out some mineral bending.

Like blood bending, but the minerals in your body.

Also keep in mind that a character claiming something means little in the grand scheme of things. Not like she'd met many strong Earthbenders to compare herself to. A good bit of that statement was arrogance on her part.

I agree though that in terms of skill she was better than Bumi. Would've been interesting to see them fight though. I think Earthbending isn't seen enough in fact.

truthfully i dont think it was that impressive .. she's not at a disadvantage at all ...
she's actually has the advantage ... the way she dismantled the boulder and gang like that ...
it was a cake walk ... toph didn't have the shackles of sight which helped her ...

Zaheer was probably already nice with the hands so finding out he can bend just added to his skills instead of surprising him.

Same way Aang naturally took to Waterbending....similar movements and mentality, free flowing natures.
