TNT Basketball>NBA on NBC>NBA on ABC>ESPN??????

I propose a trade

ABC sends NBA coverage and Desperate Housewives to NBC in exchange for the Monday Night Football having the good games again.

NBC gets:
NBA Coverage
Desperate Housewives

ABC gets:
Good games on MNF

No, it is. It just comes off as being very boring and fluffy. NBA on TNT is the best we have right now.

TNT is nice, but come on......nothing beats the NBA on NBC days.

Mid 90's Bulls vS. Knicks...best ever...

and the phantom Pippen foul on Hubert freakin Davis....haunts me to this day. Stupid stupid stupid call....

NBA on NBC>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>whatever y'all watching. period.

it wasn't just rivaries and games but the presentation and commentators were just st8 fiyah.
Bob Costas knew how to create drama with his commentating.
ABC has some nice analyst but their overall commentating sounds so dull and boring.
I never liked ABC doing any sports commentating period except college football with Keith Jackson

I still wonder what if Al Michaels would've stayed at ABC because him and Hubie Brown could've been just awesome.

on the side note, I hope NBC does same with NHL but I don't know...way they do things with NFL

So many people.

- "Look what Pippen did when Jordan left. Nothing."
- "Nothing? He was a bad call away from the Finals."
- "What are you talking about?"
- "A foul was called on Pippen after he blocked a 3, and that resulted in 3 free throws, and the Bulls failed to advance. Should have been able to contend for a 4-peat, but a bad call screwed that up."

I was pretty young when this happened i guess, but what the hell happened? Is there a video? If thats the picture of the foul then

at the refs.

Suuuure, bud.

Just music. That's all they had.

Like I said earlier (along with others), they made every game exciting. Not like 'smoke-screen and mirrors' exciting (I'm sure you have no ideawhat that means), but actually exciting. They pumped relevant backstories to the players in the games, professionally analyzed recent matchups between the twoteams, and they researched random (but very important!) facts about the players and games. That last one is what really sets them apart from everything beforethem and everything since.

Are my eyes really deceiving me? Did someone really say.......... "TNT Basketball>NBA on NBC>NBA on ABC>ESPN??????"

NBA on NBC > Any other NBA coverage in the world

Yes, that picture posted earlier is a picture of the play. It was near the top of the 3-point arc.

I'll let nba.com take it from here (http://www.nba.com/knicks/history/1994playoffs_070521.html):
In Game Five, back at the Garden, the Knicks squandered a six-point lead midway through the fourth quarter, and B.J. Armstrong's jumper gave Chicago a one-point lead (86-85) inside the final minute. Ewing missed two free throws, but the Knicks had one final shot, trailing by one with less than 10 seconds left. Davis took it, with Pippen closing in, a jumper from the top of the key on the Seventh Avenue end that sailed wide.
That's when Hue Hollins' whistle blew.

Foul, Pippen. On the shot. With 2.1 seconds left.
In front of the stunned Bulls' bench, Davis, the youngest player on the floor, calmly nailed the two biggest free throws of his career. Moments later, Mason broke up the Bulls' final inbound pass, and it ended 87-86.
That was Game 5, and the series was tied 2-2, with Game 6 in Chicago. The Bulls won Game 6 by a score of 93-79.

The Knicks went on to beat the Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals, and then went on to lose to the Rockets in the NBA Finals.

Should have been the Bulls.

*edit* I guess somewhere along the way, my memory has failed me, as it turns out that this Pippen 'foul' was in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, notthe Eastern Conference Finals. Now I know, so I'll be sure to get that right in future arguments with friends.

Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semis with the series tied at 2-2 with thenext game being in Chicago.

NBA on NBC best era of B-Ball broadcasting ...........................but CBS Basketball got me started. That was hard core. Lakers, Celts, Det. HARD FOULS,Pat O'Brien, my first All-Star Game (1987) became a big Blazer (drexler) fan. That was the root for me then NBC just made it bigger by adding Inside Stuff,Stay in School All-Star Weekend. NBC made it more kid friendly and everything was a MJ reference. Best NBC period IMO was AFTER MJ forst retirement because nowthe focus was on other teams besides the Bulls and whoever they played...........................peace.

Yeah, NBA on NBC is the GOAT but NBA on TNT is a VERY VERY close second.

Also, how come Kenny Smith doesn't get more love? When people talk about Inside the NBA, it's always how funny Charles is but i think Kenny Smith ismore funny cause he comes with CLEVER jokes and disses. Charles just says "stupid" !$+! which is why it's so funny. I actually loved InsideThe NBA even before Charles became a regular and it was just Kenny and Ernie.

TNT Basketball>NBA on NBC
NBA on NBC was like a movie.

The atmosphere they created and the way they did things made their every airing like a huge production.

NBA on NBC is easily the GOAT. The presentation was so sophisticated and the picture was so rich and vibrant, like HDTV before HDTV. TNT is definitely the bestnow though.

NBA on TNT is nice, but for a completely different reason. They're comical, with Sager's suits and Chuck's ramblings and Ernie's quips and the way their commentators call games.

NBA on ABC = NBA on ESPN

NBA on NBC >>>>>>> NBA on TNT >>>>>>>> NBA on ABC/ ESPN

Word for word...

The music on NBA on NBC was crazy dramatic as ifI was about to start playing. The interviews were personal. I miss everything from the commentators to the music to the font of the score. There is nocomparing NBA on NBC.

Marv Albert was also amazing on NBC in the games Costas didn't do

TNT is by far the best. They should have another night during the week. One night isn't enough. Especially with ABC/ESPN
smh.gif

Also, ESPN/ABC seem like they don't care about the NBA. They're more worried about college ratings. If they actually just presentedthe game, without the B.S. and let the players hype the game themselves, it would be much better. TNT is good about this because they present it like it'sthe Super Bowl every week, and I think the players like looking forward to playing Thursday night too. They know everyone watches TNT and they better be ready.I don't think many people watch on ESPN/ABC. "Right now..."
