But after the Cincy game Tom got all kinds of 'support' about the bad WR play and how it hurt him
Dude is a very good QB, who didnt have a great game, and was affected by receivers with the dropsies. Nobody said he was Tom Brady, nor does he have the defense of Brady, and he doesnt have the running game of Stafford. so thats a ridiculous comparison. apples to oranges

TB12 himself was BLASTED locally for the cincy game though. the drops were part of it, but he took a ton of heat for missing throws as well. i think we hear about it more with TB12 cause his receivers are young and off the street types of guys for the most part (prior to signing the world renowned austin collie, of course).
all that said, the drops indy had were atrocious. and nationally, all i've seen when they talk about the colts loss is replays of fleener dropping balls. so i think NT is where luck is taking the most heat, not nationally imo. and i don't put that loss all on luck or even mostly on luck. the INT was bad, but at that point, he's grasping for straws. he's still the cream of the young crop and on track

Dude had to deal with those WRs, a league best d line that was in his face all game and a monsoon towards the end

i can tell you nationally Luck is taking no heat for Monday's game . more of the heat is on the WRs for drops and on the OC "holding Luck back" by running the ball too much and not allowing him to throw the ball vertically more

See, there are two types of NFL fans: the people who watch the games, and the Box Score Bunch.
SneakerPro is the king of the Box Score Bunch. These are the guys who don't actually watch games outside of their favorite team -- if it's not team related, they're clueless. You can tell by the fact that in every post, they refer back to their team and make excuses. "WELL U SEE ANDRU LUCK IS BAD BCUZ THE LIONS DROP PASSES TOO GO LIONS." It's just sad.
The majority of us (I'd hope) actually sit down and watch football. We enjoy the sport and know a little more than the common fan. We watched the Indianapolis game and saw a great gameplan by San Diego -- sustained drives and own ToP. They realized that if you keep Luck off the field, guess what? You win games. Expect to see more of this in the future against Indy. Props to SD on a great gameplan.
We also saw 5 terribly dropped passes. I don't give a **** what happens in Detroit and NE, I know they have issues. It doesn't take anything away from the abysmal drops that hit the Colts. Reggie ******g Wayne dropped a ball. Stuff like that kills drives, period. Add in the fact that Trent Richardson was getting abused in all three facets (receiving, running and blocking) and you have failure.
But hey, what do I know?

I'm sorry but I'll NEVER to try to prove how "good" I am at watching football on an internet message board.
Anytime I've ever seen someone proclaim themselves as such it comes off as corny and just flat out lame.
Like the who **** are you to tell me or anyone else what we know or don't about football. Like is there some degree you can get in football observation. Real life, NT or whatever that **** will always be lame to me.
I love football. I watched every snap of that Monday night game. I think Andrew Luck is really good but the D-Riding that he gets before he has accomplished anything bothers me.
I'm sorry if i don't meet your super NT football watcher requirements.

The Lions' receivers are second worst in the league according to PFF with 23 drops which is 9.6% also second worst % behind the Pats (24 drops - 10%).

For the record I ain't even saying Luck deserves heat for Monday night but if other quarterbacks in that situation had the exact same performance the media would spin it, like "oh first Monday night game, he's not ready for the big stage"

Tom is also an aging QB who has not been producing to his normal standards. Which is understandable, given the tools he's been provided with. When you say, shoveling dirt, it may be because the end is actually near. Not this year, or even next, but the time will in fact come.
Andrew Luck is just getting started. Why would anyone shovel dirt his way? Let me ask you, have you seen a pattern of poor Luck performances?
The media as well as fans such as us on NT go at Romo because we've seen the pattern. We go at Peyton, because we've seen a pattern. Even Tom has critics the past few years because there is a pattern after Spygate. It's what you hear, media "spin" etc.
No pattern yet like that on Luck. Hell, he just took down the 9ers and Seahawks, pretty sure he's doin alright.
As for why folks are butthurt about him being "ridden" as the (what does Shoes call it now, NT's flavor of the month?) He is flat out, plain and simple, the best QB prospect to enter the NFL since Peyton and before him Elway. Plain, and very simple.
Some folks claimed that Russ belonged side by side. Others chose Kaep. Some others even said RG3 or Cam belong at the top. But all along, numbers or not, it's been, and is, Luck. And it will continue to be. If any of those QB's get even 1 SB win, that will be a success. If Luck gets just one, it will be a letdown. He is SUPPOSED to win more than one. That's how good he is, and should be in time. Just like another Colt QB. The praise should sound familiar, cuz it's the same praise Peyton used to hear. "before he ever did anything" as you put it.

And this is what bothers me.
When they beat the 9ers it was a power running game game plan, right? Luck wasn't whipping the ball around it was the running game and defense. But you just typed HE took down the 9ers and that was also the common narrative coming out that game.
Monday night that same game plan was in place and didn't work but now it's the OC's fault and the receiver's fault.
Is this not just a little hypocritical?

This is where we are having a disconnect.
I haven't criticized him in any way shape or form, if I have please enlighten me. I'm getting old.
I'm simply pointing out that other quarterbacks have lost games in the exact situation and took the blame for it whether it was right or wrong.
The only thing I've criticized is how quick people are to bring out the anointing oils for this man.
Lebron James wasn't universally praised as fast as Andrew Luck has been.

You know what's funny?
Teams used to follow the exact same gameplan against another Colts QB.
Wasn't it the Dolphins that controlled ToP like 45 minutes to 15 and still lost to the Colts back in like 2008?Why have the Ravens given the Pats such fits over the years? They put Tom on his *** and control the ToP with the running game. It won't work every time, because Tom is just that good, but it's a damn good strategy to use.
