STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

I want to try Pre Jym but its still "sold out"...can't front tho cause its still great marketing by them

nah i know some older guys who are well trained who praise this stuff

im def copping soon as its back in stock, i just never got around to buying because i had plenty of other stuff already but that profile on Pre Jym is legit so all the praise does seem warranted just from that

Don't get me wrong, from what I've heard and read about Pre Jym it seems legit. Definitely looking forward to try it out when its back on bb.com

But I doubt that its really sold out. Just trying to create more hype to get more of a following. There are so many products out that companies have to find a way separate themselves from the rest. Nothing wrong with that at all, smart marketing on their part

Lolz, no flaming, I actually think there's a time and place for crossfit and if the classes were more affordable i'd go.

Last night was arms, I took C4 x Hemavol x VolcaNO. I was in the gym like,

1000

Even threw in squats for the hell of it and knocked off a PB. I had so much energy, and was not tired. I went back to arms and kept curling that barbell, the bar felt lighter.

This combo is too much, only gonna stack these on heavy lift days.

Thanks to help and she wasn't even the most impressive women there muscle size wise.
Thats cause she's a physique pro not a bodybuilder.

Her and Rob seem pretty cool from what Ive seen in videos.

But she is not feminine looking at ALL.

dude is funny.. but as a L1 trainer... I cant take him seriously... it's just plain ignorance and frankly i think he would be the type of dude that would be dying after a work out, simply because you wouldnt be talking, chilling, texting during your work out

You really caught the feels with that video huh.

That one cut you deep.

Anyways, the video was really funny.

i think A LOT of people would do cross fit if they could afford it.

they have a nice gym hidden in a nice area a lot of people i know of go to thats crossfit only and its $150 a month,

even if you make decent/good money thats still a lot unless you are gonna take advantage and go 5-6 days a week and bust your ***

cross fit is gaining popularity tho, i see a lot of people i know, know of, or hang with talking about it and doing it.

would i do it? probably not

Just realized who Robin Thicke is...he's red-pants dude from a previous PYP. Never put 2+2 together until I saw his pic...

Question for you all...what do you guys prefer? BB OHP or Push Press?

I like the crossfit price exactly where it is. Keeps the classes smaller and more personal. Also it weeds out the the types you see at a franchise gym that you guys all complain about.

It's also a great way to make connections. If I ever need a referral for anything, I don't need to look very far, once you get to know the ppl at your crossfit you'll find a lot of them work high profile jobs.

DEPENDS ON WHAT IM WORKING ON.

FOR SOME REASON I FIND MYSELF NOT USING BB FOR SHOULDER MOVEMENTS RECENTLY.

USUAL SHOULDER ROUTINE RECENTLY:

SUPERSET:

DB SHOULDER PRESS

ALT DB FRONT RAISE

GIANT SET:

HAMMER STRENGTH SHOULDER PRESS

SHRUGS

LATERAL RAISES

REVERSE FLYS

USUALLY 30 REP FIRST SET, THEN ,12-10-8-6

IM USUALLY COOKED BY THEN.

FOLLOW IT UP WITH BIS AND TRIS

Which also is why a lot of the people are elitist IMO.

I have nothing against it.  If it were cheaper i would do it a few times because there are a lot of hot girls i see go in and out of the one by my gym

The elitist attitude is just part of the bad rep. Almost everybody at my gym is pretty humble.

There's just one girl that sticks out that I can't stand. Reminded me of that those girls from the my sweet sixteen MTV shows. When we went out for her birthday, she insisted on spending the whole night with a tiara on her head

Strict OHP for sure.

Maybe do some push press if your having trouble progressing with strict.

Yea, that thread is so dead. I couldn't even keep it alive during the crossfit open lol

And yes, anyone can become a xfit trainer if you're willing to spend a 1,000 bucks and willing to set aside 48 hours. I won't deny there's a quality control issue. It's been an ongoing debate between those who back the franchise model and others who support the affiliate model.

Groupons and Living Social deals are everywhere for Crossfit if you guys want to try it out. I mostly see around $25 for a month of unlimited classes.

If only they would control who can go to the L1 classes. I know some people that shouldn't even be considering being a trainer.

Why not do both? Variations are key to progress and they both have their benefits.

People can get certified, but that doesn't make you a trainer.

It's useless because it's the wrong demo and only a handful of folks here CrossFit. This is a board where dropping $200 a month on sneakers is widely accepted but spending $125-150 on your health is absurd :smile:lol)

Strict OHP for sure.

Maybe do some push press if your having trouble progressing with strict.

If strict is your goal, then unload some of the weight and work on strict, otherwise push press will be doing him no favors.

Again, having an L1 doesn't make you a trainer, just like getting your USAW cert doesn't make you an Olympic coach and both can be done over the weekend and the USAW is actually cheaper to get.

The ability to coach and help people progress will define you as a trainer/teacher/coach. You can get all the certs you want, they just look good on the wall, if you can't teach in the field, your going to blow **** regardless.

If working out is a priority, $125-175 a month isn't bad. Also, if you have never been coached, you shouldn't be doing major compound/olympic movements.

A good gym is a good gym, and good gyms are going to have a higher price point to weed out people that are at the gym wasting time and taking up important equipment, aka squat racks.

Thoughts on behind the head shoulder press? I haven't done them in over a year.

Depends on your end game, if your end game is aesthetics then they are pretty much pointless. If you want to build strength for Oly Lifting they are an essential part of the arsenal, and regular part of programming.

If I didn't have my own space and lived on the Westside, I would pay $100+/month to go to Waxman's.

Oh for sure, just because you have a sheet of paper with your name on it, doesn't mean jack ****

I see where you're coming from with that price argument, I think some people just don't like the price for xfit in comparison to other local and commercial gym prices.

I think doing push press would help for the simple reason you could use more weight and it would still be incorporating the majority of the same muscles. I don't do them personally.

Speaking of Groupons, I used 2 this month at Play it Again Sports for my Cap test bar and some mats. They have one for $15 that gives you $30 off your purchase and one for $35 that gives you $60 off. Its a good deal if you bring something to trade in as well. Mine had a lot of good equipment, might have to go back and pick up a trap DL bar.

While the push press will lead to increased shoulder strength, it may cause reliance on the hips. I'm curious if he is playing with percentages or just loading the bar with 5-10 pounds per set?

BTW, if you're in college or in the 18-24 demo the price argument doesn't apply to you,. You're just trying to tread water at that point. I was fortunate to have a solid lifting coach in HS, even then I fell off post college, :smh:. No excuses (actually a bunch ). Time to grind now.
