Man I feel like I should squat with heavier weights then go to lower weights. I already have a hard time going ATG or even parallel, but its a lot easier at 135 after ive done my heavy sets. My warm up sets suck a ton. Even tried doing some spin bike first just to loosen up and that didnt work as well as I thought.

after coming back to squats the other day, from a lay off from barbell squats, the DOMs are most prominent in my glutes and hamstrings. either i'm going lower than i used to or i'm doing something wrong

Had a great chest workout tonight

Flat: 135 x 25 / 155 x 12 / 185 x 6
Incline: 105 x 5 (5 sets)
Decline: 90 x 25 / 140 x 12 / 180 x 12

I was pretty much done after all that, still manage to do flys...

Cable Flys: 80 x 15 / 70 x 10 / 60 x 8

10 push-ups in between each set.

Tomorrow is legs, God take me now :x

team I can't deadlift

I don't think I can deadlift "heavy" anymore.  Seems like every other month, I mess something up my Sciatic Nerve.  Seems to be Sciatica, and it goes away after about a week.  That week is torture though, I can still squat, but I have to squat light.  Have no idea what causes this, and it's always on the right side of my body.  Sucks, because I love the lift.

I'll do some light pulls next week and post a form check.

On a more positive note, took me awhile but finally completed 5x5 OHP @ 135lb

Roll your back out with a foam roller and do a bunch of hip mobility stretches.  Some one posted some in this thread a while back that made it sooooo much better for me.  I will run a mile then take about 15 mins to stretch out before leg day and its been a revelation for me.

Eddie Hall is a monster.  Dude (in my eyes) has tied the world record deadlift

In addition to your back, I would hit the glutes with the foam roller as well. Better if you use a lacrosse ball.

6. Too Much Cardio

So many people spend countless hours doing cardio and yet still achieve no results. Excessive amounts of cardio lead to an overproduction of cortisol, which leads to more abdominal fat and numerous health problems. Start with one or two sessions per week, then add time to each session, throw in an extra interval or add an additional cardio workout if results start to slow.

Too much cardio? Really? In the simplest terms, calories in vs calories out. You are using calories for cardio, end of story. I have never heard anyone say to someone else "dont do too much cardio if you want to lose weight".

 Broscience?

Got my first bench workout in today in a while. For whatever reason with bench everything feels heavy, it's just some weights go up slower, haha. Been doing a 3 position bench workout- work up with competition grip, then move to fat bar pressing, then close grip. Then some shoulders, chest and tris for accessory work. Hopefull I will be bench 4plates again before Christmas. We'll see.

Ehhh. I've read somewhere that too much steady state cardio actually does burn muscle. Also, too much cardio builds up a tolerance for you, so you have to keep doing more to keep losing weight.

Yeah, you can adapt, but people who are lifting generally aren't also trying to marathon. A few hours a week of running won't destroy your gains.

I disagree. I know people who compete who don't do more than a couple hours a week. If you're doing more than 3+, I'd be inclined to think your diet needs work.

Not saying that you'll burn muscle doing a moderate amount, but "too much" is a relative statement.

Right, but doing something is always better than not doing something. Even if you're competing which I'm betting most people trying to lose fat aren't. And most people who aren't competing still aren't going to do enough to lose gains, unless they're just wimping out in the gym.

Cardio can be bad? dat science of the bro for sure.

Tell that to NFL players then I guess. They're doing it all wrong according to that quote

Once words like "too much" are used the statement really isn't respectable IMO

Yea i have to do cardio... Run 2 miles at least 4 days out the week every week.  Haven't lost muscle... might hurt my progress as far as gains but I prefer to have good endurance while being lean at the same time.

They're training for different things though. To bodybuilders there is a thing as too much. You just want to trim the fat and maintain mass. To an athlete you need to do a lot of both weights and conditioning. Its not so much broscience as just statements being taken out of context.
