STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

Everyone who lifts weights is a bodybuilder.....but not all are professional body builders. Just because we don't get paid to lift weights doesn't mean we ain't bodybuilders. We all fall in that category. Are college ball players considers basketball players even if they ain't professionals

Is he a bodybuilder?

Keyword is professional.
That is not the keyword cause majority of the bodybuilders that you see are either A, amatuer or B, pro but STILL not getting paid to compete. Not all pros are sponsored or have contracts. Only the top 10 percent or so...wanna try again? You may train and train hard but you are NOT a bodybuilder. I understand your logic, I really do and in your mind you may be but in the grand scheme you are not. Because if you refer to yourself as one, the NEXT question is going to be " What was your last show?" Or " Howd you place?" and you cant answer that...

Right cause they arent professionals, but they still bodybuild bro. Like how is this such a difficult concept for you to grasp. You don't have to do contest in order to be a bodybuilder.

I never turned pro but I can answer both of those questions and so can any other AMATUER who has competed. You, or anyone who has never competed, cant. So, you are wrong again.

Damn, fam! Those are real world broblems! Makes you appreciate when the scooper is at the top, LOL!!

I agree with SuperQ. It's not really about being pro, it's about whether you compete, period.

If you eat and train but don't compete at all, then what separates you from the next person who lifts and eats right but doesn't care at all about bodybuilding.

Do you guys honestly walk around telling ppl you're a bodybuilder when you don't compete? No, you probably tell people you're a gym rat or you lift weights or anything along these lines.

I competed last year, I didnt compete this year. I plan to compete next year. So am I not a body builder....am I a former bodybuilder? And an inspiring bodybuilder. But not a current bodybuilder...?

Do you see how over complicated some of you are making this.??

Professional is most certainly the key word for everything we've been discussing.

Am I a driver? I drive my car everyday but not in nascar. Guess I'm not really driving then.

Professional is not the key word. It just means you get paid for it or its ur job. There are amateur bodybuilders as well. Amateurs do it for fun or are aspiring to go pro

whats a person called who doesnt lift weights but goes to the gym to burn fat? Are they called, a fat burner? Lol

Bread is good, and I havent had the PB but heard it was great also.
Bread at my local Wegman (grocery store) it's like $7 or 8 bucks.
too rich for my blood. I can make my own bread for that price.

Semi off topic but I thought body builders were paid via sponsorships?

majority of their money comes from that. and it helps for them to not have to spend a lot of money on supplements/protein.

BB shows don't pay much though. A lot have reg 9-5's
hell Ronnie Coleman was a cop.
Imagine his big *** coming after you.

So is ct fletcher a bodybuilder? He hasn't competed in years
Then he is a FORMER bodybuilder... like someone said, just because you engage in an activity that is a main characteristic of a profession, does not give you the title of that profession.

My boy who lifts weights then plays a few games of pickup, is he a bodybuilding basketball player? Or a basketball player that body builds? NEITHER he is an IT consultant that works out and plays pick up.... and thats it.

Like Dropten said, can someone call themselves a fat burner if they don't lift weights but burns fat at the gym? No, they just workout.

I cook my own meals, pick out and buy my own clothes, train, give my buddy a ride home from the gym then I am officially an amateur chef, stylist, bodybuilding chauffeur??? Na bruh.

Anyway i'm done with this

Anyway, studying for the CSCS is coming along great so far, remembering everything I forgot from college or just didn't learn in the first place smh. Started the Precision Nutrition certification today as well.

Starting to train some clients but all general population.  Really need to build up a predominantly COMPETITIVE (

) athletic client base.

Some of my dudes need to up their comprehension, word association game up. The term 'bodybuilder' is not a title, it is a description. It describes an act. That is all. You guys are over-analyzing trying to get the word more importance than it should have. Just because you only associate the word bodybuilder with guys that get oiled up and compete does not make it a correct assessment. If you use resistance training in an effort to develop your musculature, you are by definition, a bodybuilder. It's that simple. Look it up.

You drive? You're a driver.

You hoop? You're a basketball player.

You swim? You're a swimmer.

Those are not titles. They are descriptions of activities performed. This isn't rocket science gentlemen.

I actually like this debate, not just because I'm winning, lol, but it livens this thread up during the down time. Now we're working out our brains.

Agreed with Freeze. You don't have to have it as your occupation to be a _______er. Not sure why there's even a debate about something so trivial.

You play football, youre a football player.

You drive a taxi, youre a taxi driver.

You own a business, youre a business man.

You go and post on NT, youre a NTer.
