It's fun... get to meet a lot of fitness personalities and get a **** ton of free samples... I don't do preworkouts anymore but last year when I went I swear I got like 2 months worth of pre samples
Can't go wrong with a ton of free samples. Lol.

School me on DIETING niketalk. Please. It'll be the death of me.
I'll go on a nice run and it quit because I'll cheat.

What is IIFYM ? What is calorie counting? What if I eat 3 meals a day? What exactly are complex carbs? I'm absolutely clueless.
Point me in the right direction with some links if you have to.
I just want to get down back to 160. Tired of being overweight and ugly.

What are some workout plans to lose weight? What is a good diet to pair with it?

I'm ready to hand out reps like candy.

I lost 50lbs last year in 6 months.

For most people, the simpler the better. Forget all these low carb diets and intermittent fasting and all that crap. You can try stuff like that later when youve seen results and feel comfortable counting macros (carbs, sugar, protein, etc).

For starters and whatnot, its CALORIES IN VS CALORIES OUT.

Be conscious of what you eat and avoid the usual fast foods, soda, fried foods. Protein is going to be your best friend and carbs on your workout days.

You are going to track EVERYTHING you eat for every meal. Download myfitnesspal, it has everything you need to track your calorie count as well as a calculator and formula to see how many calories you are aiming for. Be honest of what you input and do not neglect to put anything down.

Buy a food scale and weigh food if you cook at home. Im not the greatest cook, but ill make grilled chicken and whatnot. 4-5oz per meal, and ill have that with 1/3rd a cup of rice and sometimes an egg. Oh, get yourself measuring cups to measure rice if you eat a lot of rice and to measure your sauces and dressings for salads. If youre curious I typically eat about a cup or cup and a half of rice a day.

Once you find your calorie goal and get the hang of tracking, its quite easy to lose weight. Obviously hit the gym hard lifting weights and doing cardio, but diet is really 75% of the process. I ate plenty of Chipotle during my weight loss, I just avoided sour cream and cheese, asked for a little brown rice and occasionally skipped the beans. I had tons of paninis and wraps as well. After a while youll see what foods you can combine into your calorie goal and you can play with eating options more, just stay within your goal.

I recommend Quest bars or Greek Yogurt (Dannon Light and Fot, Chobani, Fage) with Bear Naked granola as snacks.

Its simple really. Avoid those certain foods, McDonalds, pizza, heavy pasta plates etc. Discipline in the kitchen and tracking and measuring what you eat and sticking to it will get you results. You can have a cheat day once every 2 weeks or so, but even on cheat days I woudnt cheat wih cake and chocolate bars. Id cheat with an extra protein meal or instead of a salad for that day, a nice big burrito for example.

Have fun and goodluck. Feel free to ask anymore questions.

People clowning on a bodybuilder for showing off his legs... for a bodybuilding mag?

Never change, NT.

Let's forget dude is in the beach with his pants around his ankles. Nobody is clowning the dude, he's huge, but whoever was behind the artistic side of things goofed

But about plateauing..when should you deload and start working back up?  After the plateau or right before you feel like you're going to reach it?

Dude it sounds like you haven't been lifting long enough to plateau. Your whole first couple years in the gym just feels like one big plateau with a few strong days in between. Learn to squat properly with good depth, control, and mobility and use the leg press afterwards to add more volume once you're fried from squats. You should also be doing some single leg work before hitting the leg press. Too soon to worry about plateaus and deloads

Chest day today. Been doing 3x10 to switch up my routines.
Legs day tomorrow. Can't wait for legs day. I was hitting them twice a week but was on work travel and was only able to get to the gym once so ive had 5 days off without legs training. Hoping the rest pays off and i feel strong. Gonna shoot for 5x5 at 315. Last time i made it 5-5-4-4-3.

The fact that that **** was for a magazine makes it even more stupid

Thought it was just some dude showing off just to show off at first

There are better ways to show off your physique

Seen 2-3 5'10 - 6'0. Went to the golds gym to grab a shirt seen a nice slender middle age woman getting it on thw treadmill she was like 5'9
I would have been getting afterwork meals with one of them. Was in the gym yesterday and my boy told me he seen hearts in my eyes as this 6'2 NT awg walks in. 3 min later her 6'4 boyfriends walks in the bench area crushing all my dream.

Ain't nothing like getting a bad spot. Was going for 3 reps on bench and asked the guy not to touch the bar unless I was flat out pinned... Dude touches the bar with his fingers halfway up the first rep -_-

I thought you crossfit?

Bad spots are the worst. Dudes who help you all the way up with the rep as opposed to a simple nudge arent helping at all. I rather take off weight and struggle with 6-8 reps than go for 2-3 with a heavier weight and not really struggling.

I've been running 5/3/1 for a longtime now, but I've been hearing so much stuff about the westside barbell stuff. Someone school me.
