STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

Fun question:

What are everyone's goals for this year? I know a lot of the dudes posting in here have been at this for awhile, so what are you pushing yourself towards for 2016?

Mine:

I started competing (Men's Physique) last year, took 4th at my first show. Second show I took my class and 2nd overall out of about 130. 9 weeks out from my next show where I'm looking for the overall. The big goal for this year comes in June when I'm going for my pro card in Chicago. Will be competing in both Classic Physique and Men's Physique this year.

What drives y'all?

Let's see pics Papi

1600 total or bust this year.

I've never done any traditional 1RMs before. Just gotten up to PRs after all of my hypertrophy work. Based on those PRs my total is 1300 @195lbs. Would be interested to see what I could get to actually trying to max properly

That's the show I took my class. The guy to my left is Chris Powell from that TV show extreme weight loss if you've ever seen that. He got second, beat him out for the win

Go take home top prize this year dog. You got this.

I don't have specific long-term goals, yet. Actually, I'll sit down tonight and make some. I do have a general scope of where I want to be. Right now I'm focusing on getting up to 210lbs, (7 lbs away from according to my last weigh in). From there I want to see how far I can push myself at that weight. Once spring time comes around, which should be roughly the same time I'm hitting 210, I want to work on conditioning and stamina. Lots of running, outside work. Hit these giant hills down the street. Working on improving quickness and agility. Focusing on becoming an overall better athlete in 2016, but I have to make some time and create some specific goals to aim at.

Good question!

Repped @geekforsneaks  . Good work man!

My goal was to get up to 190. Now (if the scale at my gym is correct) I'm 5 pounds away. After that its the big 200.

Just to think 8 years ago I was 195 5'10 and barely any muscle on me....

My goal is 1800... we'll see how my squat does with my thesis taking over my life tho
Damb didn't know you were totaling that high

1800 is somewhat of a lifetime goal for me, I think its a good number to try and attain naturally. That and id like to win the 231s at raw Nationals.

Nice!

That proves my point even more that being strong is a big key to have a good physique.

I want to compete in my first powerlifting meet.
Hit a gym total of 1200 @ 165lbs. Getting pretty close lol!

Without a doubt. You can always tell the difference between muscle developed purely for show and muscle that can move some weight too. Being big/"ripped" does not equal strong. Gotta walk the talk my man and be able to back it up.

Best total was 1602 I think? Been a while since I competed

Found my Powerbeats Wireless 2 today that I lost a few weeks back. Turned out they were in my shorts that I washed, but thankfully they still work like normal

Saved myself from spending another $200+ for a new pair

how do you like it? I been eying it for a while

2016 goal is a 600 lb deadlift among many other's. I would like to compete this year too in the 198s but I got a long way to go from having a respectable total.

400

My goal is to still have size and yet try to become lean...sitting at 285 and I think I might start seeing cuts at 265

After like 8 months of cupcaking and gaining the most ridiculous gut it's a damn battle trying to get back into things.

Goals:
Hit 180 pounds
Rep 225 on bench at least 5x
500 pound dl
315 pound squat
315 pound shrug 5x5 all the way through.

I haven't worked out since Sunday morning, and it's only now as I'm settling into bed that I realize I'm sore.

Lol. Strange.
