STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

At this point I just do whatever lifts I feel like doing (squats like 96% of the time ) and then I play basketball until closing. Usually ends up being 1-1.5 hours lifting and 1-2 hours of basketball.

I should probably set some goals for myself.

Are you seeing good results? Curious cuz if i had the time to spend at the gym, what you do is what id do lol. Instead i usually just ball. Dad life

Uh...debatable

I'm definitely getting stronger and I have more endurance when playing ball. My diet is absolute s*** though.

I'm sure if I cleaned up my diet I'd lean out a lot--but I was never really interested in getting "shredded".

Like what was said before, the fact that you're consistently going in there and putting in work puts you ahead of a majority of the population.

Doing cardio before weight lifting IMO is just dumb, youre using up all your energy....and this is coming from a guy who did cardio before lifting in the past when i was a newbie.

I would go lift for a good hour and 45 min or 2 hours and then 45 min of cardio...only cause im cutting. started at 230 and today Im down to 205 but i still got a gut and love handles, its only been 2 months with this diet. Gona continue this until maybe fall season or whenever i get my waist smaller and just slowly bulk and gain more mass there.

Today this dude appraoched me asking me what protein i used. He seemed new since ive just recently been seeing him around and also my man was wearing kahkis :rolleyes
but i just simply told him dont worry bout the protein powder and learn more of the nutrition aspect, dude said "okay" and went to ask other big guys what protein theyre taking  ahhh newbies, been there done that

Allllll depends on what you're doing. Making blanketed, general statements can also be seen as dumb.

Maybe that's just you. I don't get tired out once I hit the weights. Granted yes it depends what you're doing but nothing wrong with some cardio to warm up

now hold on, doing warm up cardio before lifting isnt what im talking about. im pointing out what dude said above, "30 min cardio before" I guess low intesnity 30 min warm up would be okay but idk since he didnt point it out.

Just cause a workout is long doesn't mean it is good, nor a workout bad because it is short.

If you're doing 10 sets of 3, and you're really working, you're gonna have 30 minutes of rest time alone

It's all subjective to your goals.

When I do bench, squat, and deadlift, I'm in the gym for so damn long

When I do back, arms, or shoulders, I can get out pretty quick.

What?! If it doesn't happen to you then why did you say it? Why did you feel the need to talk down to this kid about nutrition instead of just telling him about a decent protein?

7 min at least for cardio after stretching b4 lifting. Just a lil something to turn up. damb near hurled after today's workout :smokin

Just how you worded it. Now again it is all subjective but I agree that 30min will tire out a good chunk of ppl. I know I'm in that category. That 30 min heart rate interval on the elliptical can feel like death to me sometimes

Talk down? all i did was point him to the right direction man. Mostly all ppls thinks protein powder provides all the gainz.
Every single protein powder brand is decent out there, each has their pros/cons..I was just simply telling him not to worry to much about that and focus on nutrition but dude didnt take the advice so idc.

and yeah it didnt happen to me but i guess its common sense for me? Doing cardio 30 minutes before lifting must tire you out somehow right??? If not then props to you i guess...
