STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

Why is Crossfit even being brought up in the convo. He said 1K strict pull-ups. I was asking if he doing unbroken of the 50-75.

And it can be possible, I can do 27 unbroken. Just haven't worked on it that much. I have people in my gym that can do 35+ strict pull ups unbroken.

Y'all with the Crossfit hate and just bringing up random ****.

Like I said I'll see any of y'all in the gym as it relates to fit
I don't have anything against crossfit. The numbers just don't translate to doing the exercises correctly. If you can hit 27 unbroken without your knees breaking the plane of your chest without much work on them than I'll just assume that you're very small. I've seen dudes work on them every day for decades and not hit 50. Nothing do do with crossfit but they do promote these numbers that don't exist.

Understandable ...

That was very well put. Basically my sentiments. I believe 27-35-50 can be done, but I sure as hell can't do it anymore, used to be able to do 25ish a few years ago. The plan is to pace myself and hopefully surpass the 1k once I get into the groove. And I have nothing against crossfit either, I was obviously joking

Which is why there are two different types of pullups done in crossfit...

Strict

Kipping

For the latter, the numbers are always skewed and as you know, there is a HUGE difference between the two styles.

Was forced to go to the gym close to 6 today because I was trying to get my AC going in the house. I hate the crowd around 7 man.

Anyway. I tried to go for a new PR on DL. 455. I got it up 1/4 of the way but felt my form breaking pretty bad so I said F it and dropped it.

Better than last time though when I could only get it 2 inches off the ground.

Yea thats right I'm comin for you @geekforsneaks.

Thanks bro. I've been working the lats like crazy. Even doing some wide angle strict pull ups. Constricting the back when I do rows elbows in. There's some growth from last time. My lats must be like my biceps and calves. Hard to grow

it might be your pose too as to why it may not show up.

but you need more wide grip pulls.

What do you guys do for energy before a workout. Just pre workouts? There's times that I want to work out but my body is tired so I feel like I struggle a little with the weights.

You getting enough sleep? I've never used pre-workout but if I'm feeling a little sluggish that day I'll have a cup of black coffee.

If I do feel like I'm struggling to lift the weights it usually goes back to me not getting enough sleep the night before. Makes a huge difference for me.

I average 7-8 a day. But I think it's because of my job been physically demanding that I have nothing in the tank later

I think I'm going to get a belt for dl. I'm scared to take up the weight past 315 since I injured myself months ago being a dumb noob. It's kind of mental and I never want to feel that again.

As for energy at the gym I started pwo because now I'm getting 6 hours of sleep max because of work. I know it's not ideal but I'm only lifting 4 days a week now so that helps a lot. What is ideal is all the free food.
