Dressing Better Vol 2.0

Thanks for the feedback.  Follow up, where can I start to get some 'entry level' sport coats with that fit we all want?  Is J Crew prob my best bet?

BR tailored fit blazers are not bad and are a bit cheaper than J Crew with coupons. J Crew factory has their Thompson line of jackets that are cut fairly slim. Uniqlo also has jackets that are cut slim for a lower price point than all 3.

Boys at Leeds corrected my order. Had to ship back the calf boots though. |I

Very pleased with these wingtips though.

Those are RL, right? I just got my in and they're incredible for $129, no visible flaws, only thing I noticed was a small indentation on the sole. I've gotta look over the list again and see if there's anything else I want, I don't think I was a fan of what was available in my size otherwise I'd get another pair of Dalton's in another color. $199 is so cheap, I think I paid twice that.

If anyone who lurks but needs or will need dress shoes but doesn't want to spend much, jump on these deals. Call the number that was posted (don't ask, just look back in this thread) or email shoebank@allenedmonds.com with your size and go from there.

I know double monk strap shoes have been in style for a while.... but this is the trend of the future. you heard it hear first...

It varies with each firm. It can range from a polo and chinos to jacket required. Play it by ears.
Yeah I'll definitely do that. I hope its just chinos with a dress shirt.
But suiting up isn't so bad. I only have a black suit though, from when I was 280

 I'm 220 now

What were people wearing when you interviewed? Wear a suit the first day, it's good cause thats when you are paraded around to meet people and it will allow you to see what others are wearing.
Well thats the thing, my dad hooked me up with one of his clients who owns the actual bank

So i didn't interview, he just called me and asked me if I wanted the job.

But that's true thank you.

Since you didn't interview most def wear a suit. You can always relax the tie and jacket.

Prepared for PMs to be flooded in.

I agree on those Nike pants. Hoping they would be at NTLA for me to check out.

Hell no those suck. In addition to their aesthetic, they seem impractical...I've seen 3 buckle monk straps and I don't even like those, these just have way too much going on.

Edit: I hope that's a good photoshop job.

Do you have an outlet center anywhere nearby? At least if you can check out the BR suit there (I'd call first if its not close) you'd have some clarity.

You mentioned the measurements and that's helpful but what about if the armholes are massive/low, the collar doesn't sit properly and you have a collar gap, the shoulders are heavily padded or you have shoulder divots, or you don't like the button stance? There's just way more to it.

BR has 40% off and if they don't have your size or the pants or jacket isn't available, you can probably call customer service and see if thru can locate it. Otherwise, Club Monaco has 50% off sale items and you can definitely have their customer service stock locate...I think they mostly have jackets up but they can try to find the pants. Try Express too, people on here like them and they always have huge sales. I'd go with any of those over a complete unknown that you could end up stuck with.

Just trying to help.

I hear ya man, and appreciate it. I already know I don't like BR suits and same for Express. Shoulders is the main thing I'm concerned about. That suit looks older and may have the shoulders padded more than I would like.

 i hope you were being just as sarcastic as i was.

and yes its a PS

How is a quintuple monks comparable to hig end brands making AirMax soled wingtips and leather designed toe?

Levitate is no different than LunarGrands (so it's not just high-end brands) and the leather designed toe, I just see it as an overdesigned brogue or medallion, it has existed for a while now (I think I've seen them about 10 years ago).

I guess I am just not sure what you are trying to convey with that comparison?

Sasha those look great!

Bontoni is known to make some out of this world shoes so I doubt they're a photoshop, unfortunately. Crazy part is someone will probably pay their price for it, which I think it's over a grand.

Because both shoes are extremely out of the norm? It's simple, man. Sometimes you think too deep  It's not backpack rap, bro.

Those aren't out of the norm anymore, especially in NT.

Ain't digging deep at all, sometimes I just don't get what you are saying. It may seem simple to you but at times, you just reach.

You also seem to take a shot at high-end designers every chance you get but buys them yourself anyways? Just confused here man.

Every time I see those vintage Rolex sales on Gilt, i always think to myself "what if my $10k order gets fxcked up?"

Gotta reach a status where i'm completely comfortable dropping $10k for an online order

Speaking of which, any of you guys have any clothes you'd want to wear or pull off but doesn't exactly adhere to what is posted in this thread? Something more "unusual" as Wis said. No quintuple monks but something that you like but aren't really wearing?

I mean I know the "wear what you want" mantra but most still follows rules that adhere to a more classic menswear style for the most part.

For example, something like Yohji aesthetic or something like this. It isn't exactly your tailored suit, sleeves and pants are longer, suit is more slouchy, 3 buttons, hell I'd even wear it with sneakers (different pair though), etc...

I guess just trying to spark a discussion.

Bluchers with air bubble is common on NT where dudes still wear sneakers for the most part?

How is it taking shots? I just said high end brands will make them...
