Dressing Better Vol 2.0

Davidson Frere's suits are a flawless fit. Everyone of them.

I also follow him on IG.. whats his deal? Is there an actual website with pricing? Is it just bespoke or MTM services? ... :nerd:

Basically you contact him, and I guess he sets up a meeting with you based on your conversations.
If you're in an around NY or MIA, it's probably easiest cause I always see him on IG in those two cities.

It's not about not being for everyone.

It's just that cats will be like, damb, I want it cut like that too and BAM, too tight, too much pulling, etc.

I feel you on that. My cousin got a Maroon MTM recently made. He told them he wanted it "real slim". When it came in everything was tight as S#$%. And he's a skinny guy. LOL

Well said. I would've liked the silhouette too in 2009 when I first redid my wardrobe.

I always felt like his suits were great, particularly for him. Cause he has that model shape. I wouldn't look right in such an aggressive cut. Works very well for his frame though.
Agree 100%, I've always appreciated the cut but it fits better with men with broad shoulders and narrow waist, hence the inverted triangle silhouette. I've been lifting a lot to try to get there

The guys who get their suits tailored that tight are mimicking photoshopped GQ pics and probably have 0% muscle mass.

This is how well dressed Europeans wear their suits (although I think this guy is a complete @#$@ on the soccer field); compare it to the GQ spandex look that the magazine promotes to the US

Slim but not skin tight and impractical. When I tried that GQ look I couldn't even get my arms to the position in this pic

The pic you posted looks good to me. Those other guys with the GQ suits look ridiculous in my opinion and I'd feel like a fool walking around like that. Then again, I buy "chopper suits" from Jos. A. Bank so what do I know.

I am just breaking this idea within this past year. Its a killer.
It happens to almost everyone. The whole #dapper thing has been in since the mid 2000s or so when the skinny tie trend returned and it became cool among the general public to wear suits and dress menswear. Kids pick up GQ and mimic the magazine. Some of the shirts are so tight you can see the silhouette of the "V" taper and trap being shown through. I remember when I cut down to like 140 lbs, I got my shirts and pants super tapered to mimic that. I got up to 150 lbs and clothes didn't even fit anymore

Even now, some of my jackets are pull slightly since my chest is getting a bit bigger.

As the years go by, I become more carefree. Before I used to worry about tailoring .5" on the shirt to prevent ballooning. Not so much now though.

Really wish we were the same size Wis
 You're about 5" taller than me I think. I hope you're doing well on the firs professional job, Wes!

The varsity jacket is a great deal. I guess the brand is relatively unknown so it's not getting a lot of looks. Would keep if I didn't have 2 varsities I'm using already.

All is well, appreciate it!

All of my money is going into this house though, so been avoiding this thread to keep me from the temptation of buying more gear. Should be moving in here really soon too
