Dressing Better Vol 2.0

I think the reason many of you find fault with pinoys fits is because you haven't been around the thread that long.He has posted fits opposite of his most recent pics. Plus if dude wants to dress in a suit everyday that is his business. If someone wants to dress like a "grandpa" let them live. They are contributing to the thread by posting their fits which many of us who frequent it are not. Anyway keep posting and ignore the trolls.

You don't need an even number for Secret Santa.
No offense intended at all because you're well-dressed, especially for a college student but how often do you wear anything other than a blazer, shirt & tie, with jeans? It could be that's just what you choose to post here and if that's what you like and you're comfortable with, it's fine...it's just that I noticed it and IMO, it starts to look like a uniform to me.
That was the first post to call his style of dress as a uniform. My first post towards finoy was asking if he has a office job. How all this turned into 3 pages of posts is insane.

Your logic makes no sense, NOBODY SAID HE COULDNT DRESS THE WAY HE WANTS!!!!!! HE CAN DO WHATEVER HE WANTS!!!!!!

IF YOU DRESS LIKE A FISH AND I SAY YOU LOOK LIKE A FISH, DOES THAT MEAN YOU SHOULD STOP DRESSING LIKE A FISH? NO, IT JUST MEANS I THINK YOU DRESSED LIKE A FISH. DO AS YOU PLEASE IF YOU WANNA DRESS LIKE A FISH, BUT IF YOU POST YOURSELF DRESSED LIKE A FISH, WHATS WRONG WITH ME SAYING I THINK YOU LOOK LIKE A FISH?

NOBODY IS IN HERE DICTATING WHAT PEOPLE SHOULD WEAR. PART OF ANY TYPE OF DISCUSSION ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD IS FOR SOME PEOPLE TO LIKE SOME THINGS AND OTHERS TO DISLIKE IT. SIMPLE AS THAT. IF YOU CAN'T ACCEPT THAT, THEN DON'T POST ON A PUBLIC FORUM. NO RULES HAVE BEEN BROKEN SO ALL THE GETTING PERSONAL OVER SOME OPINIONS IS INSANE.

jacket seems cool, I'd prob just size up. Other than that, its a nice jacket. Seen something like that on Bannana republic, but I'll wait till black friday for a good deal

i got a sweater on under it so thts why it looks snug, any bigger and it would be too lose. Thanks

So who's grandpa is actually dressing nicely fitted with a slim tie, tie bar, some nice wingtips and slim denim??....fly *** granpa we should take notes b...

My understanding is that the fits are fine but they seem out of place for a college kid which is where the criticism is coming from

This is criticism based on the notiOn that every college student should be in sweats and flipflops, which is just a stereotype, sometimes I throw on a shirt and tie for a family gathering, sometimes I'll throw on a hoody and tee...is all personal preference and how you woke up feeling that day...so say I grew up dressing up in shirts and ties, I must rearrange my whole style the second I go into college because that's the norm and if I don't do so I'll be an oddball?

Lol what are you talking about? I went to college. There is a middle ground between sweats/hoodie and blazer/tie

the biggest critics that come through this thread 90% of the time are the same dudes we NEVER see a fit of, ironically enough.

I don't know or really care if that it at all directed towards me because I don't post pictures but I do provide constructive criticism along with support, deals, advice & recommendations.

Personally, I felt even WDYWT was weird. I don't understand the purpose of posting what you're wearing unless you WANT praise or to be critiqued. I'd imagine that quite a few, if not most, who post their pics without prefacing it with, "Any recommendations on fit of this suit or what I could do different to improve this?" are (whether subconsciously or not) are doing it because they want props. People in general need attention and it's fine, I personally just don't subscribe to a need for it. I didn't really like it when this thread started to become WDYWT-esque but so it goes.

If that means I lose the right to critique those who do post pics? I can only speak for myself and I know there are a lot of trolls & lurkers who love to take shots but I know my intentions.

Separately, I think saying, "I want to see (insert NTer) dress more...youthful, whatever" is a little odd. I started this off by saying while he's dressed well, is that what he wears the majority of the time or is it just what he chooses to post here because there's a definite repetitiveness, I don't care that he's in school or think it means he's overdressed. I don't remember every single thing he's posted but it pretty clearly stood out. My bad.

You were not in my mind when I made that post, as I personally consider you a regular and someone who adds some advice as well as critique.

Wrong analogy though, if a guy wants to dress like a fish and you say he looks like a fish then it's a compliment and it should be pretty obvious.

You called pinoy732s fit "costumey" and that is obviously not what he is going for and it is just a normal fit to most people. If you are conditioned to wear and see people wear jeans and tee and sneakers all the time, then yes it'll look out of place to you and we get that, not everyone is accustomed to it and this is just an explanation on why you might think it is overdressed or costumey.

A fish dressed like a fish is still a fish bruh.

Dapper Gents, need your opinion on what to get

Looking for a coat to pretty much wear everyday to work over a button up and slacks.

Looking for the best bang for my buck so I stumbled upon these 2 pieces from Old Navy

MY question is which one should I go with? Leaning towards peacoat but like the toggle as well just because its diff but not sure I like the light lining in the hood, etc..

God, see this is why it's hard to take you seriously. I posted a response and that is the best you could do.

I pointed out the analogy is flawed and you come back with that. I tried to explain why there is a difference and you just show your stubbornness and the fact that no one is going to change your mind. So what is the point?

I like the toggle, however if I was to purchase a coat from ON, I'd take this one, seems good for work and casual days. Just be sure to size up.

I really like that toggle one, I already have a peacoat so if you don't yet, maybe the peacoat would be a warmer option....but nice find I'm gonna have to try that on in person

I post in all caps in a proper manner and you still didn't understand. I simplfy it even more and you still don't understand. I can't teach you how to understand so I'll leave you alone.

just ignore him. In due time he will disappear.

@Baboon Cow if you don't like a fit, just offer suggestions and say ways to improve in your opinion no need for calling stuff "costumes" and for sarcasm man, just keep it civil....you showed you know what we meant by constructive critiques on the last page so its clear you know the difference

You didn't simplify it and it has a flaw in comparison as I pointed out, you can't seem to understand that.

I tried to explain why it looks "costumey" to you and it makes sense as you said you don't know any college friends who dressed that way, you are conditioned to see and dress a certain way. But can you accept that? That is the discussion I am presenting but you keep ignoring it and just want to stand that you just see it as "costumey". You still feel it is too overdressed when I already explained several scenarios where it may not pertain to that person but again you just ignore it and present your own conclusion w/o listening.

And I am the one that cannot understand?

You keep saying you are staying civil and polite when some of your comments clearly has some off-handed and indirect insult and sarcasm. Stop trying to be the victim man, I haven't replied to you in stupid gifs or puns, I'm trying to have a discussion but you simply say "no, you're wrong, I am right."

It was kept civil. Did you even read my first comment towards pinoy? Did you even read where Scabs was the first person to state that some of pinoys fits appear to have become uniforms?

I'm allowed to post my opinion as long as I don't break any NT rules. Read my posts and read NT rules and you will see I did nothing wrong and nothing is wrong with me having my opinion and stating it in the manner I did.

A direct and immature response to pinoys fit COULD have been

"That crap looks gay, why you dressed like that?"

"Why you 21 dressed like a 50 year old?"

"Your way of dressing just looks so stupid and that was stupid to dress like that to go meet your freaking granny."

See how immature those reponses would have been? Read my first posts towards Pinoy and compare them to what your implying. Hopefully you can understand the difference between the two.

If it's for daily wear and something you are going to wear consistently, take a step up from Old Navy. Save some money, find a coupon code and scoop at Banana Republic (Parent company, step above quality wise), save a little more dough and scoop from JCrew.

I'm not a huge fan of Old Navy, and becoming less of a fan of Gap.

I never said your responses were immature at all. As you can see, I key in on the words you used "overdressed" and "costumey" so I do stay on topic. None of my replies to you are insults, maybe calling you stubborn but that isn't really offensive, is it? I mean I am stubborn myself, pretty obvious with some of my posts. But you bring up other things that I never even mentioned which just makes no sense.

Some of your post can sound smark and a off-handed jab though for sure. I mean to keep calling it costumey even after plenty of people tried to explain it isn't does start to become somewhat of an indirect insult. You are pretty much taking a stand that "it is costumey and that is that" or "if it looks costumey to me, then it is a costume" as a reference to your fish analogy "that a fish that looks like a fish is still a fish".

In the end of the day it's a discussion and none of us is going to lose sleep over it and I don't really think anyone is butthurt.

I love toggle/duffle coats, I have one and even a chunky. substantial sweater with toggles. While I'm sure the Old Navy one is really affordable, I just don't like the look of it. I like that the toggles contrast but the toggles are not substantial enough for my liking. They just seem like an afterthought and the rope being hidden under the seam diminishes the accent that makes the coat look great.

A Baboon Cow is like the FutureMD of clothing. So determined to get a reaction and take over a thread. :rolleyes
