What kind of break would be best. I plan to use them casually. Would something a little longer than this be best?

For some reason, I can not get on board with GATs. Maybe I haven't seen good fits incorporating them. If you have pics of fits that sold you on them, please share.

Two pairs of shoes that I've been considering - I'm really feeling the Adidas:

The pure boost is the most comfortable shoe that I own. IDK bout everyone else but I can really feel the "boost". Its expensive for a casual runner but def worth having at least one pair imo!

For sure. He was/is a valuable contributor to NT in general in my opinion, and was in this thread specifically but the success of this thread back then was due in part to several members so if we're giving credit, make sure some of the other OG's get credit too. Those from back in the old thread even before this new one. Nii, Wis, Steezy a while back, Sartega, Adrian, Carlin, to name a few off the top of my head...

Of course there were MANY more members that contributed but those key players successfully helped shape the thread and though I barely post on NT, this thread certainly played the main role in my transition.

It's not what it used to be for sure but that's not entirely the current posters' fault though.

Like Wis stated earlier, things simply change. In the beginning, it was almost a journey for most of us leaving streetwear into the vast world of menswear. That transitional phase coupled with the growing popularity of menswear in general in fashion made for a great thread. Menswear hype just isn't as big as it was a while back.

But in regards to posters, some, like Nii and RFX weren't new to menswear and seemed to genuinely enjoy ushering newbies in and others were just as excited to learn and share and most of all help each other.

Damn near everybody feels like they have s*** on lock now, which is totally fine, we should by now lol but that shifts the dynamic a bit but it's not the worst. This could now just become like what the high end designer threads are, or most of the other threads on NT, where people all just share and talk about what they like/buy/wear/want to buy and is not so much of a thread to learn from. Don't just let the thread just die though.
Well said. For the thread to continue on, I think new posters need to be in the driver's seat.

I started posting in this thread from the jump of the first thread. I was in the transitional stage myself, going into grad school and had lots of free time to do so. Many folks contributed like you stated, but life happens. I don't post in the thread as heavily as I used to because work became more demanding, and frankly...I got enough clothes for a while. I no longer buy things on the same level as I did a couple of years ago.

I'll probably come back and edit the post or do a new one once I have some more time to think of a coherent response.

Suit jacket looks great, A! You and these MAB sample come ups... I'm jelly.

Full suit or odd blazer, trouser combo?

what are the rules on picking out a pocket square for your suit? it'll be my first one and I will be wearing it to a wedding

Just go plain white linen with a "TV fold" to be safe.

When you decide to go colors/different materials, have it compliment but not exactly match.

Looks good bro! Is that a SuitSupply suit? Wish you went with a diff pocket square that wasn't so matchy-matchy with the tie, but still, killer look.

Thought the same. Looks like the Madison suit maybe from Suit Supply. Clean color matching with the light brown and green but I agree that a less matchy square/tie combo would have nailed it.

Also, it looks like a double 4 in hand knot maybe? I know suit supply uses them a lot and I do too but they do tend to end up a little boxy if not done entirely correct.

Overall, very clean! Love the DB look to switch it up sometimes.
