I thought I struck out, but had 2 emails in my inbox. Same size & separated by 4 order numbers.

same thing happened to me, praying they only cancel 1 and not both, but im already ready for the worst

LA campers seem nice, civilized, and pretty chill

NYC campers looked all aggressive and ready to pounce at any second

As you know, LA and NYC are two completely different cities.

NYC has those hardbody dudes who are like I can pay my $2 to hop up on the subway and get to pretty much head to any borough around 20 mins and make a quick come up. You know people can goon the line up there and not have it be a problem really. If you're out of place up there, it's easy to spot. You'll get come up on if you're not street smart.

Whereas LA, you're in fairfax which is pretty much the west coast's jewish version of soho in the middle of hollywood. Dudes from compton and south central aren't making that drive out to fairfax. You're mainly dealing with rich, odd future type skater kids out there.

Completely different lifestyles. But you're from NYC so you know what I'm spittin

Soho wasnt really like this years ago. It went from hipsters to sneaker heads to thugs to everyone combined. Not many tourists on lafayette honestly.

But you're pretty spot on.

Pretty spot on. I have been to both Surpeme and the LA one is an odd one for sure just cause I pictured Fairfax being some sort of equivalent to Haight St in the Bay. Instead, it's just some street with common stores alike around there. I didn't get that culture that I thought I'd get from pics and what not. That's just me though. NYC one just seemed more OG just from pics from the past when skaters used to go there.

Old pics of Surpeme NYC premiering a skate video:

Yupp. I remember when soho wish just hipsters and rich mogul type people lol. But the city is so much different than it used to be. Harlem doesn't look anything like it did 4 years ago.

I think what dude is implying that you got dudes hopping on the train, taking it from any borough, and getting to SoHo with no problem. As apposed to out in LA, Fairfax is a bit of a drive to get to from the Urban areas.

But are there really goons lining up in NYC? Or is just sneaker collectors different out there then in LA?

agreed.

yeah, the tourists are all one block over on broadway.

and the neighborhood itself (soho/nolita)? one of the wealthiest in the city. people that actually live there nowadays are not going into supNY. back in '94 though, different story.

depends on the release. bred 1s, foams, tiffs (anyone from NYC remember the blades incident back in feb - they HAVE to do raffles now, no more FCFS) - yeah, you will see unsavory types. typical QS SBs at the smaller skate/SB shops like DQM - civil people for the most part.

I think for the hyped releases you may get some who see it as a way to make a quick buck. Other than that, I think it's just regular dudes, hypebeasts, collectors, resellers, etc. You never know though.

Everyone lines up in NYC. But if you're not a local or aren't from/familiar with city life, you'll stick out. Pretty much if you look like an outsider, there's a decent chance that you'll get taken advantage of. Goons, sneakerheads, fashion people all kinda stalk preme now.

It's deff not like it used to be.

There're alot more goons at SupNY now during releases than there were back when I was heavy into sneakers. Thats a fact.

were you at the supreme high release? thats the last time i did a camp out and that wasnt bad

you had only about 10 or so goons that would intimidate their way to the front of the line, so im sure its up to 100+ of em now

My foams package weights only 1lb. Any one else get the same?

tbh UPS don't really care about the weight stated on the labels.. almost all of supreme's labels are 1LB [minimum cost] if the driver doesn't notice the weight, they only pay for 1lb. [i work with logistics]

Damn....had no clue. I haven't been to a camp out in a minute but there was never a specific type crowd. You had tons of different people from what I could see. Never really an goons and what not. I think at most, cutting in line happened but I don't recall anyone getting stuck up for their shoes.
