Shoes sold out back then, as I recall. But, it was a slow, trickling process. It wasn't like everybody rushed the doors the second a shoe released. Shoes gained a following over time. Major releases like the annual Jordan sig would see a cluster of people copping them in the first week, and then continued growth of popularity. A month or two in, you'd see lots of people with a shoe that became a big hit. When I say Foams bricked, I just meant that they sold poorly even relative to other signature shoes around the same time. The Jordan XI, and even XII sold really well. Earlier shoes in the Penny line sold really well - especially the 1 and 2. Select CWs of AF1 sold really well around that time (white, grey, ultramarine high - for example). Foams didn't move like that. Sure, their price point was part of the reason, but that doesn't change the numbers that they did, or didn't do - even if you measure it by revenue generated, they still weren't a smashing success. The were a niche hit, and even most of the retros sat until markdown, despite having a loyal, cult following. 10 years ago, the Foam's following was like that of the Spiridon, or some other unconventional niche shoe that didn't appeal to the masses but was loved by a small group of devote enthusiasts. Now, it causes mayhem. But, most of the fans just jumped on the bandwagon and will jump off just a quickly.

it might look nice, but it depends on where they emphasize the cool grey!
If they do it like the Air Jordan XI, where the eye catching part has the darker grey, so the foam and the swoosh is the lightest grey, then it might look really nice. Also the stripe on the tongue should have the darker grey, but of course it all depends how Nike will realize that if they do it.

My current top 4 of upcoming releases is:

Suns > Knicks > Obsidians (Crossing my fingers!!!) > Shooting stars. If they all release next year I will be very happy!

Is it me or do the green camo's look like some custom electric greens...look at the pull tabs..maybe im wrong but why would a dark green camo shoe have neon/lime green on it???? Ijs

^^ Really not feeling any of those posted up either. Colors just seem too random and don't flow very well IMO
 
Damn... why not just drop the anthracites instead of those bogus stealths. As soon as wale drops off the whole foam thing, the DMV will follow.

Foams were a movement that started in NY, the most expensive city on the East coast. Like when hype was diverted off SB's; now they are relatively easy to cop. Same will happen to foams when people realize that dropping 250+ retail on em starts to get played out. My opinion of course.

The DMV doesn't wear Foams because of Wale. Wale wears Foams because he is from the DMV

I'm not even from the DMV but the DMV stays loyal to foams at all times.

One of the few kicks that are region specific haha like Gogo music
 
I'm sure nike will come up with some off the wall color schemes.. I do hope they release the classic royal blue!
