2013 College Football Thread (Realer than Real Deal Holyfield -->S/O Craftsy)

Don't think Al Davis was right. Kiffin did all he could do with what he had. Off the field he was great. On field he just shot himself in the foot too many times, too conservative, didn't adjust his game plans. His game plans were like the titanic and he sunk with them like the the captain on the titanic.

I think Al Davis largely forgave off the field issues so long as you could produce on the field. If anything, I think that's what the Raiders were most known for when they took in terribly suspect personalities who could still perform. Local media in the Bay Area has long lampooned Kiffin for being a poor coach, aside from his prickly nature. I don't deny both qualities combined made firing Lane easier for Davis, just that he didn't perform like he was expected to.

And yeah, he had a terrible situation to begin with. But he should have known what he was going to get with Al Davis, as strange as that may sound.

Ain't no one important de-committing from usc bc if Lane. They will now get more recruits bc of him being fired. Orgeron still there. UsC just did themselves a favor by firing Lane.

"classless"? When should he have been fired then to be classy? they need to get rid of him to get ahead of next weeks work. He didn't hear 3rd hand, they got rid of him bc he lost the team and has lost the backing.

Aaron Murrays huge win being overshadowed by Kiffin talk

So why not fire him last season then when he was reportedly losing the team? And yes it is classless to pull someone off of the bus, fire them and leave them at the airport. Have the decency tl do it at his place of work. Beats getting fired via answering machine.

In non-Kiffin talk, Clemson opened as a 13.5 favorite against Syracuse. Considering that Cuse opened up as a 10 point underdog and then jumped by a whole TD against N'Western, I see it being close to 20 by gametime if the trend sticks.

Kiffin was not going to survive the loss. They didn't leave him at the airport. Pat Haden was on the charter with the team. It is what it is. People will buy the ESPN spin . Why wait until Monday?

The good thing about the Kiffin era is that any coach can come in here and run their system. If anyone would've ran a system other than pro style after Pete left, the torch and pitchfork crowd would've came out.

Cuz nobody gives a ******g **** about Aaron Murray and you're nobody *** team. Quit beggin for attention.

kiffin car was at the aiport since he lives a few miles away from LAX. and USC should fire him now and get a jump on everyone else(IE texas) and set up back channels talks and see who wants the job.

Kiffin is a clown but I never bought what AL davis tired to sale people cause well al davis is/was crazy, his coaching hires his last years where horrible and after kiffin was fired the raiders vets on that team like warren sapp went to bat for kiffin

coaches don't even ride the bus back to campus lol

17 straight for Urban :pimp:.

Should've let Kenny G cook though :nerd:.

I would not be surprised to see Bielema take his team into the swamp and beat Florida. Had their chances vs A&M.

I'm not saying Arkansas can't beat Florida, but you have to realize just how bad A&M's defense is. All of A&M's games are gonna be close because the defense gives it up just as easily as the offense can get it.
