2013 College Football Thread (Realer than Real Deal Holyfield -->S/O Craftsy)

Manti & Lennay, pretty bigger deals than we may have thought. Is it me or Tuitt & Nix are way bigger than last year? That defense looks way slower.

Oklahoma looked impressive, Stanford is impressive.

Purdue is a dumpster fire.

Mike Gundy's stubbornness cost his team a win yesterday. UNC, WTF?!? Bo Wallace, y u no score points, so much for Alabama defense being overrated as some in this very thread stated.

Dontre Wilson, Jared Abbrederis, Bralon Addison, work!

We need to do better as a race

Oh & St. Thomas Aqunas or Tampa plant or whatever central Florida HS powerhouse it may be, UH thanks you for John O'Korn. :pimp:

Bo Wallace's comments really backfired

Evans had 120 more receiving yards against Bama than Wallace had total yards

it's gonna be Del Rio or Sarkisian.

Don't see Sark leaving UW. This is a make or break year for him, and he's adjusted his philosophy and it's working. He can build something up there and eventually compete in the Pac 12 North. He has coached his way out of the "hot seat", even though it wasn't hot, but it was a little warm.

Del Rio is a wild card, no CFB experience, wasn't really that great in the NFL as a head coach. Then again it was the Jags, and look at them now, awful.

Would prefer someone with CFB experience, heavy experience.

Could def see Sark leaving...UW loses a lot after this season...would like to see if they are targeting NFL if they'll wait until the season starts...they main thing for USC right now is to try and salvage recruits

I'm wondering if they go after somebody like Dabo, Kirby Smart, Mike Gundy, or Art Briles. I don't see Del Rio, Sumlin, or anybody who has a nice job already leaving for USC, but that's me.

Del Rio and to a lesser extent Sark and Jeff Fisher all wanted the job 3 years ago.  Jack is flourishing with Denver right now, so unless he's waiting for the next NFL job to open up, he's gonna get a call from SC again.  If the Broncos D keeps doing what they're doing him as a head coach could be a huge boost to recruiting too ("I can turn you into the next great NFL defender") and look at what Jim Mora's doing across town.

Who from the current college football landscape do you have in mind though?

"Want", they all passed, nearly four years ago Del Rio was with the Jags, Fisher was with the Titans and Sark was in the beginning of his tenure at UW. They were contacted but nothing formalized. I don't think Del Rio or Fisher truly want to go the CFB route. They are respected in NFL circles, especially Fisher.

Peterson, man, think everyone will make courtesy contact but eventually the calls will stop, since he shows no sign of wanting to leave the friendly confines and low expectations of Boise State.

It's funny you say that (I happen to agree), so many people thought he was waiting for the Oregon job to open but they didn't seem to even inquire about him before going with Helfrich.

thats becuase we have made a habbit of hiring within the system. there was basically no thought of hiring anyone other than Helfrich. Plus Uncle Phill gave the approval on him. lol

They asked Sark about the USC job on the radio and his response was "I don't talk about hypotheticals"
basically leaving the door open. Im sure if USC called him he would definitely think about it, and how could you not? Its one of the premier universities in the nation

From what I remember hearing back then Fisher passed, but the offer was pulled away from Del Rio and Sark once Kiffin's people started asking for the job? Del Rio seriously considered it though. No?
