2013 College Football Thread (Realer than Real Deal Holyfield -->S/O Craftsy)

ASU had me confused. I thought it was 4th down with how they were running around all crazy. Makes no sense to rush that. Whatever though.

ASU can still get this.

Edit: Hate this new trend of receivers on every level hopping up and raising their hands after incompletions like everytime is a PI. The leagues are half to blame.

The refs took strong out of the game with the 2 PI calls and the no call when dude held his hand. ASU still had plenty of chances to get it though :smh:

I'm glad the Ducks came away with the W. Disappointed by the lack of discipline which yielded waaaay too many penalties and just stalled the offense. Defense played pretty well after giving up that first touchdown drive to Texas.

Marcus Mariota, when he is healthy, is really something to watch. Having not seen him rush the ball really since the Wazzu game, I forgot how fast and elusive he really is. He needs to work on his ball security and accuracy, but other than that, he's one of the best, if not the best player in the country.

While I believe Mack Brown had to go at Texas, the guy is classy to the next level. Sure he was a boner when he lobbied Cal out of the Rose Bowl in '04, but he's gone about this stuff really well and I tip my cap to him.

Now begins the long offseason for the Ducks, knowing they could have had so much more. I don't droop my head at 11 wins, but the team knows they could have done better and I hope that motivates them throughout the offseason. I'll be interested to see who they get to replace Alliotti at DC. The only name I've heard is Randy Shannon. He statistically had some great seasons at the U when he was their DC, but that was 10 or so years ago. Monte Kiffin was once a great DC too

There's been a few rumors of them keeping it internal and promoting John Neal (DB Coach) to DC. I think Don Pellum (LB Coach) has also been mentioned as another possible internal replacement.

I also have to say how disappointed I am in De'Anthony Thomas this year. For the first three games, DAT was dialed in, focused, and playing really well and up to his potential. After his ankle injury against Cal, I think he just threw in the towel, knowing he wasn't coming back next year, wanting to preserve his body for the NFL Draft. It seems that DAT is either 100% in or 100% out; nothing in between.

He's turned into a bum over the past couple of months, barely showing up in games or making critical mistakes at big moments (i.e. Stanford, Arizona). Apparently he hasn't really been showing up at practice and hasn't been performing as well as coaches know he should be, which doesn't surprise me given how his play has been recently.

Oregon is definitely a better team with DAT on it, but only the DAT that is focused, dialed in, and ready to contribute for 60 minutes. If he's not going to put in the time or effort though, he knows where the door is.
