Nope im far from one But for real im surprised alot of teams havent caught on to that. Granted Marshall is hard to defend but hes not unstoppable. You cut off access to him and put pressure on Cutler and you have easy 4 and outs.

Its heartbreaking to see the Bears make adjustments year after year and they never pan out. It sucks that Urlacher will retire from the Bears without a Super Bowl ring

If the Vikings are smart they ditch the Ponder experiment as early as possible. Y'all can't afford to waste years of AP greatness. As much as ppl hate him I would make a run for getting Rivers. With him the Vikings are a playoff team. If not draft another ASAP.

Too many teams are using the motto "my quarterback gives us the best chance to win" because they have too much pride to realize they screwed up and spent a high pick on a QB or spent too much money.

Ponder isn't that bad and certainly isn't worth giving up and going the Carson Palmer route to get someone like Rivers.  

And your point about QBs is basically right, but hindsight is 20/20.

I agree about Ponder, but I need to be real objective and not a fan when I evaluate this. He's comparative to Alex Smith with a ceiling maybe slightly better. You can do worse, but the Vikings don't have that kind of defense. And as mentioned, there is windows for sports teams and AP's may only last another 2-3 years (peak performance). Four if we're lucky, but nothing guaranteed. This team has a good amount of a "core" for a team that will contend, but need a playmaking WR and a few players on D. Most importantly, it needs a QB that can throw for 300 yards in today's NFL.

I'm not completely gone with Ponder, but I preach it all the time for other teams so I shouldn't be different with mine...If he's not the guy, then they need to find him before windows are closed and before the best running back of all-time (arguably) is broken down.

I am completely done with Christian Ponder.

I've watched just about every minute of his NFL career and it baffles me that anyone thinks this guy can be successf... no not even that... just even competent. He's awful. He's terrible. We're done with him. We need to go to Joe Webb right now because we're still in the hunt for that #6 seed in the NFC, and it IS reachable with some type of sturdy quarterback play. I don't think Webb is the future at all, but for this season, he gives us the best chance at that #6 seed.

The guy who could have quarterbacked this team to a 10-6 record was cut in the preseason, mind you.

Leslie Frazier: Christian Ponder still Vikings' No. 1 QB

Minnesota Vikings coach Leslie Frazier is in too deep now to turn his back on Christian Ponder.

Frazier has defended his quarterback all season, even as Ponder's struggles have become common. On Sunday, Ponder threw two killer interceptions deep in Green Bay Packers territory, the defining plays in a 23-14 loss that considerably dimmed Minnesota's playoff hopes.

Another brilliant performance by Adrian Peterson went to waste, as did a nice effort by the Vikings' defense, which kept Aaron Rodgers in check for most of the afternoon.

Frazier remained behind Ponder as his starter Monday, but the coach didn't slam the door on a change if the second-year pro continues to struggle.

"Up to this point, I've been felt it's best for our team that Christian remain our No. 1 quarterback, and I still feel that way," Frazier said, via ESPN Twin Cities.

Frazier said it never has reached a point where he believed he needed to pull Ponder from a game, and he insisted Ponder is "still a very confident quarterback." Frazier said the team still believes in its quarterback.

But there's no denying the cracks are showing. Ponder finished 12-of-25 passing for 119 yards, and he now has thrown for 160 yards or less in five of his last nine games. Accuracy is an issue as well, as Ponder has eclipsed the 55 percent completion percentage mark only once in his past six games. The loss of Percy Harvin plays a part in this, but Ponder hasn't been able to adapt.

After Sunday's loss, defensive tackle Kevin Williams approached Ponder at his locker and uttered words of encouragement. Other veterans did the same at the urging of teammates, according to Tom Pelissero.

It was a gesture meant to show support for Ponder. Now he needs to give teammates reason for their faith.

It's just upsetting to me that AP is gonna waste away on this team who is not going to be that good (we might hang around, but we are not winning this division any time soon) for at least 3-4 years. Unless we get some drastic help in the draft and rookies perform at a high level from the jump.. which is a pipe dream.

I also think Percy is gonna want out again in the offseason, there was rumblings this offseason but the team is headed nowhere with Ponder. Dude literally threw the game away when we could of distanced the lead in the redzone on Sunday. It was atrocious to watch.

I wouldn't hit the panic button yet though. I mean, even in my short 27 years I have seen the Vikings go back and forth from having a great team to bad/medicore to great again. What's happening with AP has happened to Carter, Moss, Robert Smith, John Randle, and so on. And let's be real. This 2012 team is overachieving from their expectations heading into the year. The process to get back to the top will be decided in the next two seasons. They're only a playmaking receiver and QB away on offense and a few pieces elsewhere from being a very dangerous team again.

Bears/Vikes game is huge this weekend.

If Vikings lose consider themselves completely out of the playoff race, with the head to head L vs the Bears, already down 1 to the Packers, and Wildcard teams like the Seahawks, ********, and Cowboys all gaining ground.

If Bears win this game they should be able to ride momentum into a playoff spot even if it is as a WC. However if they lose they VERY realistically may miss the playoffs again especially without Urlacher for potentially the rest of the season. They are already down in the head to head vs the Packers. Same with Seahawks who can very realistically win out the season with 3/4 of their remaining games coming at home where they are undefeated, and their lone away game being Buffalo. If we lose next week vs Minnesota we could continue our streak of losing all momentum at the end of the season, and I would not at all feel comfortable in our chances to beat out Green Bay, Seattle, the Vikings, or which ever NFC East team doesn't win the division.

Both teams should play inspired football this weekend and it should be a much better matchup than last time. Hopefully the Bears can protect Cutler, keep AP in check, and win the game but thats alot to ask for especially with the game being in Minnesota without Urlacher. The Bears have been **** without Urlacher during the Lovie Smith era.

The Vikings need to let Ponder stick it out til the end of his contract. Is he playing terrible, yes he is. We have to get better playmakers on the outside for him. Jerome Simpson and Micheal Jenkins sucks. We need to just keep building through the draft. MLB, DT,WR,OL.

Poing being is that they're a lot closer at this point in the process that most are and you act like finding QB's is so hard now. It's more effort and realizing a mistake was made than it is struggling to find someone worthy.

Favre. And a team's unwillingness to change is the thing. Childress held onto the idea of Tarvaris too long like we hope Frazier doesn't do with Ponder. There were many QB's to be had to help the team if they were willing to look.

Truth. I pointed this out. Aikman pointed this out. You can't completely take the blame away from Ponder, but the receivers not getting open is a real problem on this team. There's no separation whatsoever and I believe it has led to a lot of problems in not being confident his guys will be open.
