THE OFFICIAL 2023 DALLAS COWBOYS OFF-SEASON THREAD || Cowboys Gonna Cowboy

Cowboys preparing for Sean Lee to miss rest of season, now also nursing Sims and Durant in addition to sidelined Carter

The Cowboys are bracing for news that Sean Lee is going to miss the rest of the season, another blow to a linebacker corps that also lost Ernie Sims and Justin Durant in Sunday’s loss to the Packers.

A team source said the Cowboys expect to hear this week that Lee is finished for the season, as he undergoes further evaluation for a neck injury.

When it rains...

Was there tonight and thought my team was done for without rodgers but they pulled through and man was it a madhouse afterwards. Loved every minute to the end.

:smh:....I don't even know anymore.... At least my annual prediction of 7-9 8-8 or 9-7 is going to be right

Worst part of the game today was when a family came in to my job and this girl who had to be no older then 10 says to her dad as Romo threw the last pick "same old Romo" and just shook her head  :smh:

This game personified the romo era. Great stats on paper but in reality pissed the bed when it counted.

An almost pick that was overturned up 5 in the 4th quarter followed by an actual pick up 5 and another pick a few minutes later down 1.

8 seasons of romo and not once has he been held accountable for his actions. Never has he been in fear of losing his job. He's a great statistical qb but a mental ****** and stats only tell half the story

The playcalling was atrocious. All those pass plays with 4 minutes left and Green Bay low on timeouts. Wow.

The defense sucks and has made mccown look great and Matt Flynn replicate his week 17 2011 performance against Green Bay in the 2nd half.

Its been 8 years of middle of the pack play. If Garrett and kiffen are still coaching the cowboys next season Jerry has failed that fanbase. Gingers can't be trusted with power.

As for Romo, I said in week 2 his deep ball was off and people came after me for that observation. Weeks later, I was right. His deep ball has been terrible this year.

Just out of curiosity,

When people say "Romo wet the bed when it really counted" does that mean this was considered a huge game? I know we are all emotional about what happened last night but the guy does have 22 4th quarter comebacks. Do those somehow never get factored into the equation? Only when he chokes, it matters? To those that say "I'm waiting for the inevitable INT", were you saying that the other 22 times as well? Because in reality, you can do that for any QB and then when it does happen, I can say "SEE? He threw a pick."

Every game last year up until that Washington game was a "MUST WIN" for the Cowboys except for the Saints because the Giants lost to Atlanta that day. We pulled off an improbable win after one of our own teamates killed another, beat a Steelers team that was desperate and in the playoff hunt, and beat a division rival after being embarassed at home?

I am in no way absolving Romo for what happened yesterday. But the "He always does this" comments have no merit when you think about all the many times he hasn't. Somehow I knew this would be considered a "Big game" because we lost despite the fact that we are in position for a "win and in scenario" at home against Philly.

The fact is, he is our best QB option at the moment. We can draft a QB next year to groom as Romo is getting old, but there is no other QB on the market that can do better than Tony right now with THIS Dallas Cowboys team.

I do sometimes wonder how many of our fans truly experienced the dark ages after Troy retired. Because if you truly experienced that era of Cowboys football, there is no way you can say ridiculous things such as "Start Orton" or "Get Michael Vick." And I know no one in here has said that but that's some of the comments I've been reading on various sites/FB.

i'm a Romo fan, but he's making it hard to like him this year

he's extremely talented, but extremely frustrating

idk what to do, they just gave him serious BANK

I guess I would draft a QB to start grooming, Manzel is high on my list because I think in this offense you need a mobile QB

^ ^ I agree 100%.

Romo is most definitely frustrating.

I am not fond of him yelling at his HC, although I'm sure it was justified.

I am not fond of his lack of an accurate deep ball since 2011.

But he is the best we have. We can either be 8-8 with him, or 3-13 without him.

One might say "3-13 is the better option so we are not stuck in neutral and get a higher draft pick."

But have we forgotten who our GM is? The same GM who traded 2 first rounders for Joey Galloway? Same GM who traded a 1st, 3rd, 6th, and conditional 7th for Roy E. Williams, who was set to become a free agent the year after? The same GM who gives out extensions for 'soon to be' washed up veterans?

We technically have to be in "Win now" mode every year because a rebuild under Jerry is not possible. The only reason we were lucky to get Parcells is because Jerry's stigma prevented him from getting stadium funding after the Campo years. Jerry has his stadium, and his $$$ so we won't see another strong HC in Dallas until Jerry passes.

I urge you all to watch that Bill Cowher video that discusses the culture in Dallas. It was posted yesterday.

I like Romo, was a huge fan, but every season my love for him dies a little.

8-8 football team, said it April, now they may be a 7-9 football team

I'd love to hear the defense of Jason Garrett ' s job right now
Iwas always defending dude but nah son he gotta go. Damn season not over yet though but I don't want to lose just for him to get fired. I wanna win still and unless we lose to Washington it comes down to Sunday night week 17

There's a part in the movie "the wash" (with snoop and dre) where Deebo says a line that rings true of j. garrett

"I do enough not to get fired."

F!!! him. fire him now.

forgive me for still being upset.

Yes, it is said that Romo audibled to a pass. WE LEARNED THAT FROM OUR HEAD COACH. IS THAT WHO YOU WANT RUNNING YOUR TEAM? HE THREW HIS QB UNDER THE BUS.

WHAT ABOUT THE 3 PREVIOUS PASS PLAYS? WE GOT BAILED OUT GETTIN THE FIRST DOWN ON 3RD DOWN....WHEN WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN RUNNING THE F!!!N BALL. THIS IS NO DIFFERNT THEN THE BOTCHED ENDING IN DETROIT.

DEMARCO DIDNT HAVE A 45+ YARD RUN THAT INFLATED HIS 7 YPC, THAT MO FO WAS RUNNING 7 YARDS EACH PLAY. RUN THE ******G BALL.

EDIT:

(ROMO)He throws the worst deep ball in the NFL and that includes Chad Pennington

THIS IS VERY TRUE.

THEY prolly came after you cause romo has never been able to throw a deep ball.

yo furious right lolol

I'm ready for the entire team to be gutted. Only person I'd keep over the age of 26 is Lee. Would keep the receivers, minus Miles, Mo(in hopes he'd rebound with a healthy offseason) maybe Scandrick and Church, Carter, Tyron and Fredrick, Eecobar, and Bailey. But everyone else can go.

Last night was the first time since Romo has been in the NFL that I fully expected him to blow it. Just knew that second pick was coming, and when it did it didn't even upset me because I knew it was coming. Never felt that before :smh:

The only QBs who'd succeed in Dallas right now would probably be Peyton and Rodgers, don't think anyone else would, too many holes on this team. And as long as Romo is the starter the team won't be bad enough to fix those holes in the draft.... perpetual mediocrity.

His contract is worked in a way so that Dallas could release him in year 3 of the deal without it hurting the team. I think they need to find a QB in this or the next draft, groom him behind Romo until we can release him and go from there. And they need to start gutting the team this offseason. Players, coaching staff, medical staff, strength and conditioning, water boys, EVERYONE. Only constant from 06 should be Jerry.

Btb did a post on what that would be like.... Doesn't look like it'd be that bad.

I've just seen enough of Garrett and Romo.

KD did a real good job on that BTB post

"@espn_macmahon: Dez Bryant's biggest crime this year has been caring deeply about winning/losing and struggling to control emotions. Not an awful problem."

Him and Lee seem to be the only ones :smh:

Too bad management, coaching staff, and the majority of our players don't care as much as Dez and a few others do about winning :smh: ... the culture around our organization is being content with 8-8 seasons or hoping to sneak in the playoffs and go on a run like the Giants :smh: ... Every year since the Giants went on a run down the stretch, Jerry continues to mention "look what the Giants did" after every loss :smh:

The entire coaching staff sucks. All of them. Callahan is awful. Kiffin, too, even with god awful talent/depth. Garrett can't manage a game even when he has zero play calling responsibilities...

They all need to go. Clean house.

I think the guys on the Ticket were right this morning. Literally about the only thing that might wake Jerry up is the triplets or Deion or someone Jerry genuinely holds in high regard calling him out or holding an intervention and explaining to him that this isn't working...

It's just crazy. Not one of those dudes will ever say anything negative and always stop just short of being too critical of the Cowboys outside of players...

Babe said something negative on the radio broadcast last night and then joked that he was afraid he might get fired... :smh:

that's a good idea, maybe if like Troy, Emmett, Irvin, Deion or Moose was like look, this is whats wrong and you need to fix this and this, maybe he would listen

told you bros we were going to lose against the pack, I stopped watching the game after halftime, checked the score a few hours later, wasn't surprised.

I love Romo, I stand by him, the coaching and management needs to **** off. I'm not comparing Romo to Alex Smith but I see similarities (
grin.gif
) in that Smith was a good quarterback, had an okay team but the team wasn't able to do anything til singletary/harbaugh came in. someone needs to come in here that is tough and shape this team into what it is capable of.

rob ryan as head coach or jon gruden to come back to coaching would be some of the people I would like to see come in here. I'd be open to even having mike shanahan even steve maruichi come in. but these are just my fantasies
