THE OFFICIAL 2023 DALLAS COWBOYS OFF-SEASON THREAD || Cowboys Gonna Cowboy

Thank you mr s j king.

I feel similar to how you do man. As bad as we were on D, and we were bad. We were still in every game. Still a few plays here or there away from a totally diff look.

Hard to miss what u never had, and we never had dware at full strength. And Sean lee missed his minimum half a season quota. We had 3rd string guys out there against Green Bay, Washington, second philly game.

And idk where your getting your romo info chia, but both espndallas and dallascowboys.com have said romo has shaken off the deep ball rust, and is looking like himself again.

If anything his deep ball was rusty, but Terrance and dez even Escobar all have been recipients of romo deep balls since that report came out.

I know dudes coming off a back injury and it's not a sure thing. But y'all treating romo like he's made outta glass. Y'all just assuming an injury is inevitable this year. I don't share that sentiment.

I've seen dude play in, and win games with broken ribs, a broken back. So he gets the benefit of the doubt from me until it becomes a persistent problem.

And ive read nowhere that, or heard nothing to say that it's a persistent problem. Only speculation.

Our D last season was beyond terrible. QB's averaged 300+ yards passing...

But we still finished 8-8........ 8 wins for a poor defense. and STILL had playoff hopes down to week 17.

Imagine how many wins we would of had if were just an 'average' defense.

I remember this game. Wasn't this play on 4th down? Murray My man. Kudos to Romo, for using his legs.

And even though Romo gets hate alot, look at this. This dude tries and is getting better.....

All I'm saying is we beat ONE team that made the playoffs last year, ONE. And that was the Eagles because they play in our division. Other than that who did we beat? Not ONE team over .500 besides the Eagles. Those 8 wins came from a weak schedule. Call a spade a spade please.

I said literally the same exact thing in the NFC east thread @kidfiasco. Just being average on D greatly improves our fortunes.

And captsneakerhead, I feel what your saying man. But look how many playoff teams make it one year nd miss it the next.

When they happened, the KC lost was a bad loss, because we SHOULD of won based on their previous seasons record. The eagles win was just meh, they were 3-4 at the time I believe.

See where I'm getting at? The nfl schedule is such that predicting wins and losses in the preseason is tricky. Teams go from worst to first every year(panthers, chiefs). Teams go from playoffs to top 5 picks too (falcons, skins).

I'll call a spade a spade, it just is what it is.

Forgot average.. If the D can become top 25 the team will be greatly improved . People are really ignoring how much better the offense will be too. It's improved from top to bottom. The only potential problem is Romo's back, which I think is being overstated.

I don't think we'll make the playoffs, but I'm positive we won't be as bad as people think.

I just love how people are questioning this team because of Romo's back. Granted still a delicate injury.

When there is numerous of other players that had torn ACL/MCL injuries last season and making their returns this season, but their names are kept quiet.

Romo will be getting some snaps in on Sat. I hope he throws some deep balls to see test his back in a 'in game situation'.

All I see lately in Camp is Romo to Dez non stop. Hopefully they fine tuned their chemistry.

went to training camp today, lucky enough to have it only a 15-20 minute walk away. the tension was crazy following yesterday's "brawl". there was 3 squabbles today, Raiders secondary couldn't keep up with our WRs or RBs at all!!! Beasley breaking ankles and Murray straight run through people and my man Dez checking every Raider there

 he trash talking everybody.

first squabble

Dez trash talking.

my favorite shot, people went crazy trying to take a picture.

second squabble

nice pics.

Romo supporter, but he has never been able to throw a deep ball.
this

he doesn't have a strong arm and velocity to begin with, so if its even worse this year, idk guys I just dont know how good we will be

this passing offense is all intermediate and deep passes, a lot of timing routes, we dont run a west coast quick three step drops and the ball is out

as for my Romo news, I read the camp reports on BTB every day and from what I have read Romo hasn't been crisp on getting the ball down the field, also just watching him on tv he looks stiff and just doesnt look healthy IMO

also I really like Romo, I dont hate him, so dont take my criticism of him as hate, because its not, its concern

lol I heard Dez told a Raiders DB that "You know my name.......but I dont know yours....."

Feel like an idiot putting Mo as my 3rd rated player that year. Cowboys fudged up that but can't blame them he was a boss in college. Imagine they took Kuechly or Janoris Jenkins sigh the struggle of being a Cowboys fan

I was there also.  Crazy amount of Raider fans, but great atmosphere overall.

Got a coaches guest pass this year, so had field access and an amazing view of the practice.
