I feel like some MK8 tonight, so I think I'll join you guys. If needed, NNID is OKreczy6600.

Nintendo did the same thing when the DS was first announced. They called it something "portable pillar gaming" or something like that, as if they were going to juggle having the Game Boy SP and Nintendo DS supported at the same time. Of course this isn't what happened and the Game Boy was fazed out.

Nintendo is upgrading the DS, don't let them fool you.

They need to relax with the revisions and just make a new handheld with a different name. Having exclusive game for the new ds just creates confusion and angers those who shelled out for a ds or xl

How have they not learned from the wii to wii u mistake? I don't know what they are thinking.

This. First time I'm legit disappointed in Nintendo from a hardware standpoint. Right in the middle of the 3DS's life time too. This doesn't make any sense. This coming on the verge of Miyamoto announcing they are going back to their hardcore roots.

BTW, who here is getting the 3DS Smash bros game? We should get a little tourney going.

I would wait until an official release from Nintendo of America before expressing disappointment. Nintendo is known for giving their customers great value. I'm sure they will do right by their 3DS customers.

Been listening to NVC for about a year. It's awesome. Still freaking annoyed I bought the XL and I cant Xendoblade because of this apple type move SMH. At least put it on wii u console. Do a bayonetta 2 and include it SMH. First time I been mad at Nintendo in a while.

Y'all better get to trading in them 3DSs y'all have now and wait for the new joints to drop

Srs though, what's the new 3DS called?

I mean the new 3ds has better specs
Faster gpu and mor ram I believe
So I can respect them releasing it
I mean I have had mine for a minute
If I JUST bought one I would be a lil salty
I don't believe they pulled a apple IMO

For those upset about the "NEW" 3DS having exclusive software/better hardware... didn't Nintendo do the same thing with the DSi back in 2009? Seems pretty standard by now that every 3-4 years Nintendo releases a slight upgrade while offering some exclusive content to help move the new hardware.

DS line was pushed from 2004-2007/2008... DSi took over at 2008/2009 and was featured until 2011 when the 3DS dropped. And lets not forget about the ambassador program for early adopters of the 3DS. The point is Nintendo hardly ever shafts their consumers.

3DS launched in America back in 2011 and this "NEW" 3DS will probably hit here in spring 2015. That's 4 years on the market folks... hardly anything to be mad over. I hope by time in hits stateside in 2015 they call in the Super 3DS or something along those lines. "NEW" 3DS just sounds redundant.

I can't be the only one a little upset. I just recently bought an XL though. To me that's a huge commitment, and to hit us with this? I wouldn't be as mad if all games still work on the regular and XL. I hope you're right though, that they won't forget about the ones who have their handhelds now.

There's like 45 million 3DS' that have been bought, that would be a huge mistake if they forget about that install base.

I see this NEW 3DS as a way for them to port Wii games over to handhelds. It was a miracle for them to port Donkey Kong from Wii to 3DS and they had to do a fair amount of downgrades, with this NEW 3DS they'll be able to do so with little to no downgrades. I don't know about you but i would love a Mario Galaxy portable.

just found someone selling a wii u console only for $100. worth it or nah?
