You make it sound like being on trend is a bad thing

I'm not really a follower of too many trends but i do take inspo from others and the same can be said for everyone whether they want to admit that to themselves or not. Theres a reason why super baggy pants were taken over by slim fitting. Now the trend is going back to baggy but I damn sure wont be a part of the movement. But look at brands like off white, union, the Nigels the deconstructed or bare bones "wrecked" look is a whole vibe at the moment and they are running with it. It's just been a thing it's not bad to be on trend, it's just a thing some people do more obviously than another.

I mean aren't you a follower too? We're subscribed to a brand, Jordan. Nike shoves a sneaker in our face and takes swell pics of it then boom ppl are just like "I need these!" You
They really dont cuz they prolly have a ton of shoes already. It might've been a colorway or a shoe that they never even considered until it was made but all of a sudden theyll be like "gotta have em!" Its just the way consumerism works especially for fashion and clothing.

I mean I don't think 4 years back people would of ever decided that a half black toe with a neutral gray upper with yellow thread along the ankle giving it a sewn together "rough" aged look with yellow laces in would be a look but it is now. It's just a trend. Its whatever lol

Purchasing something trendy is one thing, but millions of people biting an "influencer's" or social media star's style head-to-toe is something else. Originality is lacking these days because people want to follow what's trendy for likes/followers/clout, it's wack to the nth power.

Why you even here. 1s don’t fit your “aesthetic.”

Ive seen casper90403 casper90403 flex on a thread before  and when he does, he does it right.

That flex was 10/10 due to the sheer subtlety. He mentioned vacationing in some of the most expensive cities in the country, fine dining, going to a fight at MSG, and his son getting into an Ivy league in one short post.

Random thought. We all have top 5's top 10's in our 1 collections but what are some of yall top 5 or top 10 least favorite from your 1 collection?

For me its:
1. The all-white Jordan 1 LA - the worse
2. Neutral Grey all suede - jumpman 1 with the old build so they kill my pinky toess and are boring
3. Letterman - not bad but not all the way dope
4. Sails - they're cool but boring
5. Triple Blacks - cooler but boring as well

I just am not too big a fan of solid colored 1's cuz I feel like it's just too much shoe to all be one color, I prefer some kind of color blocking. Cybers are dope cuz they have that white sole/outsole so it makes them stand out in a very nice way.

Not sure about my bottom 5 but easily my worst OG 1 is my Orange Peel Gatorades... I bought them on sale for like $90 and, even then, I felt like I got ripped off. I told myself I’d eventually customize them but I think I was just making excuses for buying them.

They've been gaining ground with the "anti-fashion" movement they're not back in the mainstream yet but give it 2 or 3 years and theyll be back fully in trend. Anti-fit, It's just the cycle.

I highly doubt we’re going back to the 90s, JNCO fit era. Looser fits are definitely coming back though but I don’t think this is going back to that style.

I doubt we are going back to JNCO, but brands are already moving towards cropped and looser fits.

Check out a lot of the highest rated fits on today's WAYWT

it's because most cats in here dont know what leather quality is and have a narroow minded experience on it aka only nikes (or sneakers in general).
ppl aren't making a general statement saying sbb has "good" (p)leather. we are saying sbb has "good" (p)leather AS FAR AS JORDAN 1s GO...
:nerd:

I would ask why you even on NikeTalk since you out here lying about what you own, what you wear, probably what you drive... actually you sound just like the new NTers.

I see what you're saying. I didnt even think of these cities as being expensive. We're going on a budget, sort of. $200-$250 per night type of hotel. I eat good most of the time. Had to try the good places on the East Coast. I didnt think much about the MSG fight. GGG is my neighbor so I didnt think much of it! And its not for my son. I'm not that old.

Really thought it was a basic type of trip and wanted to do it right since its only for 6-7 days.

But i see the point.

Lol there is absolutely nothing I can come up with that will top that - comparing me to the new NTers

Although it is 100% false, it hurt.

This is exactly how I've always viewed the SBB talk. I don't own the SBB, but I've always viewed the pedestal that they're placed upon as a pedastle among Jordan 1 leather quality, and not leather quality in the general sense.

Adding to the trend discussion, I personally believe fashion trends break into 3 groups; the trend followers, the group that purposefully go against the trends and therefore become a trend themselves, and then those that pick a trend or time frame they enjoy or feel the most comfortable with and then pretty much stick with that (though that sometimes becomes one of the former two groups by virtue of the cyclical nature of fashion). Being 33, good fitting pairs of jeans (that don't swallow my kicks), flannels, t-shirts both old and new, sweatshirts (mainly solids but some with details), and hoodies, is where I've been for a while and where I'm pretty much set at. And while I don't think it looks that bad on others (so more power to them), I personally can't have my ish totally clashing with absolutely zero connection. Again, that's just my cup o' tea. But ultimately fashion is a thing dictated by the elite and/or those with the platforms to drive buying or the platforms that make them seen/popular. Not a bad or good thing, just is IMO.
