Big news Items in the Political Arena

1. “To me my Libbies” in Prof X voice

2. Immigration and the southern border is a big discussion point. Migrants fleeing oppression are coming through Texas and border states in large numbers. Deplorables like Texas Governor are bussing these people to other cities and states to score political points aka human trafficking. Dems put forth a bipartisan border bill that house republicans wouldn’t bring to a vote because Trump didn’t want the problem fixed.

3. Roe v Wade is still a huge issue. Southern states have banned abortion while blue states permit it. Southern states are trying to criminalize interstate travel to prevent abortions. Supreme Court is full of frauds so they will make it up as they go.

4. Inflation and the Economy. By all objective measures the US economy is kicking tail but inflationary pressures and corporations gouging prices has made people believe the economy is worse under Biden than Trump. Regular items like food are way more expensive. Interest rates are higher to fight inflation but who knows if that will work.

5. Polling and the Accuracy of Polling. Ever since 2016 there have been debates on whether polling is even accurate anymore. We are inundated with poll results that over sample, have huge margin of errors and seem to be off.

6. Media’s desire for more news and how it impacts covering politics. Republicans are a mess and can’t govern. When the government gets shut down the media always couches things as a both sides framing which gives Republicans cover. Essentially Profits over democracy
