***Official Political Discussion Thread***

I really don't want to hear **** from those that didn't vote. A lot of those Bern's and 3rd partiers were the first ones freaking out.

I'm speechless...completely speechless. Not so much that Hillary wasn't elected but the fact that Donald Trump is going to be our next president.

Maybe someone can shed some light on this for me...but with such a discrepancy between the black/latino voter turnout for the Clinton/Obama campaigns, where did Hillary drop the ball? Was it arrogance on her part in that she assumed that she would have the black/latino vote due to having Obama backing her?

As a minority and a man who has immigrants in his family, I'm terrified of our country going forward. Hate won. :smh:

This wake up call was needed. Too many stood on the side lines saying their vote didn't count. Even I myself was skeptical and told myself if I voted it would go toward the libertarian candidate. Luckily I came to my senses and do what I felt was right and voted Hilary to promote change and progress. Today I will have to hear the whines and moans of people who acted like they gave a **** about politics. I'm looking every person dead in face and saying if you didn't vote, shut the **** up. Plain and simple.
Worse than that are the people who wasted their vote on a third party thinking it would send a message.

100% Truth on both statements.

I do hope Trump doesn't destroy our trade relations with the US. Besides the EU, the US is our most important trade partner we export goods to. For several years in a row now America has also been the #1 foreign investor in Belgium. We had a great relationship with Obama but I'm not so sure it'll stay that way if Trump goes full isolationist/protectionist mode. Even our Trump supporting politicians are worried about that prospect.
Parliament is holding a special debate on the potential economic fallout of a Trump presidency

Member that time Belgium's Ab-In Bev bought Budweiser?

Ya'll can keep it.

All this *****ing and whining makes me sick. We literally have people crying and blaming that Americans who used their freedom to vote third party is somehow a bad thing. If you don't align yourself with a party and still chose to vote that's a POSITIVE thing and is something that will really manifest in the 2020 election. Americans are finally starting to think outside the box and not letting these extremely corrupted and powerful political parties automatically earn their vote when these said parties have done nothing for decades to earn that type of loyally. This is the beginning of a new United States of America as we know it and we will reap the benefits in 2020 with a way stronger election including better qualified candidates regardless of what political party their backing. Kill me for being for the individual and not blue or red.

...and in the meantime the Republican Party/White Supremacists are driving home wins right down the middle of the lanes as individuals such as yourself and others vote for losers who don't stand a chance of all at winning. It's all about winning....and the Republicans seem to stick to the message by any means necessary and exploit weaknesses from the other side. Particularly with this thought process above.

Republicans FAILED us when Obama was in office don't get it mixed up. We've had the worst congress of all time while he was president. I wish we would've been able to have a more moderate house or a democratic majority these past few years so we could actually have some change happen in this country

That blame Republicans shtick is old. He was a bad leader. He's not the first Democrat president to have an adversarial Congress. Look at Lincoln and Lyndon. He was a great campaigner but poor leader. He lacked the skill and will(which he admits) to do the day to day schmoozing that comes with the Presidency. That's why he failed. And if you'd like some books that detail this I will recommend some. Start with the Audacity of Hope and then The Audacity to Win. If you need more ask. Because I've read and own a bunch. It's the books that give you a true insight into a President's mindset. **** interviews, articles, and op-eds.

This is definitely true. I remember the NYTimes magazine had a nice spread a few years back about how Obama was working with the republicans for a new budget plan and he actually got the support of the republican leader and they came to some concessions and then he found another coalition just enough to pass it without those concessions and he basically back stabbed the whole situation.

Actions like these will cause rift no doubt about it. And it just hurts you down the time because people will see you as an opportunist. This is one thing trump will have to realize as well that this is not business where you can do as you feel if you are a powerful cfo. Things will bite you in the *** quickly if you backstab politicians. Many have been there for years and have friendly relationships with one another.

This. As if we can be certain that 3rd party candidates fared well in the states that Donald had to win.

Did you miss the internecine conflict within the GOP over the last year? Republicans did not "stick to the message." It was fragmented, and a particular message resonated and prevailed.

I had a Budweiser once, it was terrible. Our beers are usually ranked very highly so I'm probably just used to better.
I'd highly recommend Hoegaarden. Our Lindemans fruit beers continue winning award after award but they're kinda seen as being for women. Despite that, they are delicious.

Finally starting to think outside the box?

How much did all the non-Drumpf/Clinton votes have combined? Like 5% of the vote?? In other words just enough to be laughably low, especially considering that these were the two candidates with lowest approval percentage E-V-E-R, yet still enough to alter the outcome of the election in favor of the worse of the two candidates. The worst possible amount.

Think outside the box my ***. All those idiots who in the handed the election to The Bigot will be forced to look back to see how "outside the box" they really were:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/ralph-nader-voters_us_57f55aa4e4b0b7aafe0ba7f1

They'll look back, all right. Mainly the 3% of the Florida and Pennsylvania voters who voted third party and ruined their country's future in the process.

The office is surprisingly tame this morning. There was a bit of anti-Trump yelling and a few Trump supporter feels yesterday, but today nothing.

Forget all this foreshadowing ********, let's get real...

Melania Trump is the hottest First Lady ever or are we still coining Michelle?

I will say when I came in this ***** everbody was looking either clinically depressed or like they're trying not to give any emotions away.

**** is almost an uncomfortable silence right now. Like everybody's afraid to expose themselves.
