***Official Political Discussion Thread***

Wild thing is auto manufacturers were moving plants to Canada because American workers in cheaper southern states were too uneducated and costly to get up to spend. Weighing the costs, doubt they come back to the US.

it's rumored that whenever da LX platform get updated it's being made Stateside so...

Then we better start investing in education and better subsidized healthcare so they stay this time around.

Simply put, any policy proposal which drives up costs of Corona, tequila, or margaritas is a big-time bad idea. Mucho Sad. (2)
More expensive Corona could actually be a good thing. It might convince people to stop drinking that swill

I got no problem with that, cuz while we may impose a border tax, it will be ultimately cancelled out as da glut of oil continues to proliferate with federal permits start to flow, and those tax coffers get filled.

i'm sure some hackers already have this all figured out.
Likely. Their email addresses are semi-public so someone with a particular set of skills could perhaps figure that out.

As mentioned before, some of my business acquaintances use a program that intercepts email address information from twitter so they can use it to jack valuable twitters. I'm not sure if their program simply retrieves the censored version if it's not locked behind a "enter your email or phone number to continue" security feature or if it can retrieve the full uncensored email.

I still don't mind a Corona with a lime every now and then, but I like Pacifico better.

So we're going to impose 20% tariffs, which will be passed on to American consumers while the money raised from the tariff will go towards building a wall and increased border security.

Meanwhile, by targeting illegal immigrants, the cost of labor in this country will go up. Also, by no longer using undocumented laborers, American businesses will be paying higher wages and benefits. Thus goods produced in America will also need to raise their prices, which will also be passed on to American consumers. Further, these jobs will be for menial labor, meaning that the Americans who get these jobs will receive minimum wage and won't be able to afford the new Euro-style increase in prices for goods.

Go trump!

There's no way to tell. Each individual ip address can use the password reset option a set number of times in a 24h period.

If I were to use my VPN to change my IP address, I could use the password reset option a number of times again.

Technically there is no limit on how many password resets you can do, provided you can change your IP address.

Morally I have no problems with increasing border security or decreasing immigration if it can be definitely proven that the net cost to the average American family financially is negative.

I just don't think it is.

Especially where I live. It's why Bush nor Perry ever really wanted to do anything about it.

They know it helps Texas families but they can't tell their base that

So you're saying the rise in consumer good prices are worth it to help out our big government in projects that only benefit a fringe group (the rich)?
I thought you were a proponent of small government :nerd:

You don't think there's also a limit on the number of times you can reset a password for a given account?

Not on a twitter account. There's a lockout for password resets on the actual email addresses, for example if you reset the pass to example@gmail on gmail.com over and over, everyone will be locked out of that option temporarily including the owner. But you can essentially do it an infinite amount of times on twitter usernames as long as you don't lock yourself out. In order to steal a twitter account, it of course helps to know what the email address is.

Let's say you find a username, let's call it "Example" and its email address is e******@****.**.**

Obviously that doesn't get you very far, so you must test your email guesses. This wouldn't be too difficult to guess but it would still require a number of attempts. In order to confirm you guessed the right email, you do a password reset for the email you're guessing.

So let's say my first guess is "example@live.co.uk", you open the password reset and enter example@live.co.uk.

If it is not connected to any twitter account, it will simply say that this email is not connected to any account, so it's a wrong guess.

If it is linked to an account you can't specifically tell which account but it'll say "send password reset link to example@live.co.uk"

You can then conclude that that is the email you're looking for and then proceed to attempt to social engineer your way into the twitter using the information you've gathered, or breach the email address in order to gain access to the twitter account.

This is a very simple example of course, so in reality most of the time it takes dozens of guesses if not hundreds to guess the correct email. And many different people are trying this every day, especially on usernames that would be of high value. Therefore I can conclude there is no general lockout for password resets on a specific account.
