Official Baltimore Orioles 2013 Season Thread: (72-63) 9/02/2013 BAL @ CLE Game 1 of 3 Norris (9-10,

I heard he was screaming on the ground......i can't watch the video...i just hope he is ok and can recover to be the same manny we saw all year. Such a shame coming off such a good season.... :smh:

Yup, local Baltimore media are reporting that Manny should be ready to go for spring training. They said it's not as bad as it could've been.

Phew... :D

^ i didn't think they were going to win last night. I thought losing Manny to injury was going to take the wind out of their sails so to speak. Fun season though. We were in it almost until the end.

Buck did his part (although a lot of Baltimorons would disagree). I think Duquette needs to do his this off season. A #1 pitcher & some hitting. The Birds pretty much stood pat with off season acquisitions. Anyone with a half a brain should've known the Birds weren't going to have things roll their way like last year.

It was always going to be tougher this year & we didn't have the personnel to do it.

My one disappointment however is how Markakis. What the hell happened to him?!!?

I still blame C.C. Sabathia for Markakis. Before he broke his wrist Markakis was on fire. Call me crazy but I still believe that Markakis would have made a big difference last year in the playoffs. I think we would have beat the Yankees and given the Tigers a tough series because we seem to play well against them....

But the season ended on a bad note with  the injury to Manny, and not making the playoffs, but it was still better than the seasons before 2012. Now like you said we need to add some pieces if we want to be back next year.

I would never trade with Billy Beane for fear of him knowing more than me... :rolleyes

The O's need pitching, not trade pitchers away... Sad to see Jim Johnson go to the A's. Seemed like a class major leaguer & good teammate...

Meh....I'm sure Tommy Hunter can step in and duplicate JJs success. I'm not mad at the trade. I'm curious to see what we do with the extra cash we have since JJ is now gone.

A lot of people have said that about Hunter. I guess we'll see if he can duplicate JJ's success. Interested in how the O's spend the cash too & what moves they make in the off season. This is a critical one. They thought they could stand pat from the previous year but found out what most of us knew, they couldn't replicate the previous season's success. Orioles need pitching, specifically a #1. Trouble is there isn't a #1 out there we can get that's "attainable" within reason.

Should a new thread be created?

After what seemed like no activity, I like the off season pick ups. I think Jimenez will pitch well & I think Cruz will contribute. Perhaps 20-25 HRs & maybe 70-80 RBI is realistic barring injury.

I'm really intrigued by the Korean pticher... I think the folks at Camden Yards should chant Yooooooooooonnnnn for every K....

I love that the cartoon bird is back. Same with the hat with the orange bill, white front, & black... :smokin

I don't think Santana will sign here. He apparently has a lot of friends on the Blue Jays but feels the Os are better hence the hesitation in signing with Toronto.

I'm fine with Wieters leaving in 2 years unless he fixes that swing. He's great defensively but has become a liability in the line-up. He shouldn't get top dollar if he can't hit.

I'm confident Angelos will lock up Davis. He's helping to put butts in the seats & generating O's being in the headlines outside of his production which of course has been phenomenal...

Not gonna lie, not the biggest baseball fan more of a Ravens guy but listening to the Fan sounds like we made some pretty good moves. Anyone trying to do a DMV summit at one of the games this summer with a pre-game at Pickles?

Def down.

Just moved to butchers hill a couple of months ago...can't wait to catch o's day games all year

Local media is stating Santana might be signing with Baltimore. If this occurs, Norris or Britton will be dealt with the likely candidate being Norris. If I were Duquette, I would poach Philly to see if they'd take Norris (& Britton) & one of our many left fielders for closer Papelbon. They're not going anywhere anytime soon & Norris is a solid pitcher & the O's left fielders are solid players in need to play every day... That's my 2 cents... Imagine Papelbon closing for the Os...

Looks like Santana is signing with the Braves. Kinda glad in a way since it looks like we get to keep Norris now... If Jimenez pitches solidly for us, the O's rotation might look alright this season. :D

Nelson Cruz & Jim Hunter!!! :smokin

I see Jim Johnson gave up 2 late in Oakland & lost to the Tribe. That makes 10 straight years the As have lost opening day. :rolleyes :D

Where ya'll at?!?!?!
