I wonder I the wizards can someone get DMC from the Kings.

With a new culture going on and maybe wanting a new start could the expirings you guys have do something?

I think him and wall will work and he needs a fresh start.

I understand the unwillingness because you guys wanted a culture change esp with Young / Blatche / McGee
I would take DMC in a heart beat

A more realistic target might be Omer Asik. I don't think trading for him would require giving up either Otto or Beal. If we dealt for DMC, I'm almost certain one of those guys would have to be included.

What about Neal from spurs? They just signed belinelli so he may be disposable

Darren Collinson just signed with the Clippers. Read that he was "out of the Wizards price range" dude better be making 4.5/per at LA.

If anyone can get DMC to focus and play ball....it's John Wall. Cousins would play hard and hopefully smart with his former teammate and friend, but that is unlikely that the Wiz would land him.

It would be fun to watch though.

He's going to demand a max contract next summer.  If a team signs him to a max offer sheet, there's no guarantee the Kings will match.  He hasn't exactly had the best run there.

After this season we have so much money coming off the books we can sign him but if its a max contract he wants the wiz better make up a no knucklehead clause

I feel since he'll most likely get a max, he looks like one of those players who will stop working hard

Since the Kings drafted McLemore, they'd probably ask for Porter back in any trade for Cousins. And since Wall and Cousins are eligible for max extensions, they'll likely get it within the next 12 months. Beal will eventually demand one if he progresses the way he should. And it's virtually impossible for any team to have three max players on a team with this CBA.

DMC is the modern era Rasheed Wallace. Limitless Talent, Questionable Work Ethic, and if harnessed correctly can be an amazing asset or if left alone can be a detriment to the locker room.

Bringing in dude's over 30 making 10+ Mil is what contending teams do. Bringing in Pau only might get them a second round exit a couple of seasons imo. Still wouldn't be better than Brooklyn, Miami, Chicago or Indiana. Plus assets would obviously be lost to get that done..

Now if they had made the second round or took a top seed to a game 6 or 7 last season I'd be all for it. But as of right now I'd like to hang on to our draft picks/expiring contracts. Summer of 14 could shift the balance of the entire NBA just like 2010. Would like to see the Wizards be a part of that.

The problem is that the Wizards have nothing to give Sacramento. The team's biggest assets are Wall, Beal, and Porter. With Mclemore in town, I doubt they'd be interested in Beal and Porter + Players + Picks.

DMC has made it quite clear he wants the Max.

I have no problems taking that risk to give it him. However, if Beal and Porter pan out...you can pretty much kiss one (or both) of them goodbye when it's time for them to hit the market.

It's the OKC dynamic all over again. We'd enjoy Wall, Cousins, Beal, Porter for a year or two and then they're getting split up.
