OFFICIAL BEATMAKING / PRODUCTION THREAD Vol. New NT

REASON 3?!? dude how do you do it? lmfao

I like it. Its simple. Or I guess im too lazy to update lol. Thats reallly why im looking at the maschine though. New sounds and can bring vst's into it. Ive been sticking with propellerheads hoping that one day they would support vst's and I guess the loyal user that I am, I let it get pass me. But with reason, its helped me understand the basic's the different modules like the mixing board and learn how to mix better. I know reason has no good sound library so I keep looking for different refills and drum kits to keeps my sound updated plus I sample alot.

first time in this thread. been producing since 2007. i'm down for some competitions. make sure the samples are juicy.

Who's going to be the judge?

I think we should create a separate thread for the comp and when its time to judge, The op of the thread just opens a poll for voting. That way its open to the rest of the forum to vote on the beat they like? The participants can vote but obviously not for themselves.

Or the Op of this thread can just open up a poll in here. I thought we would make a separate post for the comp that way the commentary doesn't flush out all of the gems posted in here.

Someone make the thread and post a sample.

No doodoo samples please.

Damn, didn't know so many would be up for it, I'm all in cause I def need some motivation. What kind of sample would y'all be up for? I can start looking to help out.

currensy currensy had the idea for the contest , so he should pick the sample. Once that's done we'll start a new thread, get people signed up and make a deadline. I say we put a poll at the top and let the NT gen pop participate in picking a winner - maybe put "come in and vote" as part of the thread title (I like NT PRODUCERS INVITATIONAL NOVEMBER 2013 - COME IN AND VOTE :] ).

Once we get a sample, I say we set a 11/15 submission deadline and open voting from the 15th until the 30th.

If this works, we can do it once a month, delegating a different member to pick a sample each time. I'd even be down to pay an entry fee, create a pool and give the funds to the winner, or use the funds to buy something gear-related.

What do you think?

Hey guys, any Logic Pro X users in here who were formally FL Studio users?

Getting a macbook pro soon, and I will still be running FL Studio via bootcamp, but I'm thinking of giving Logic a try since its so cheap now ($199.)

I tried Logic before and HATED it. Honestly didn't give it more than 2 weeks. Main thing was the drum programming and sequencing work flow. I LOVE the workflow for laying out my drums in the step sequencer in FL.

Question: Do you guys know if there is a way to lay out my drums in Logic pro similar to the workflow in FL?

Even in the piano roll? I happen to hate the piano roll in Logic too......I love the left click add and right click delete simplicity in FL, in Logic you have to select all this stuff, such a BUZZ KILL!
