Hmmm,. I suppose I can see where you are coming from, but I liked the idea of it.

He IS Vader's Grandson. As in, he does possess whatever....(weakness?) that would move someone to the dark side. So I'm fine with that.
And his visions of Allana and the throne, ok, that would move me to start doin things different. Any father would.

But I can see where you'd think things were a little forced. I do. Like goin after the Falcon and stuff. Or even rushed. I don't think they really fleshed out the how or the why he went the way he did, but then again, the movies didn't do that with Anakin either. Dude went from hero to killin kids in 20 minutes. :smh:

If fleshed out right, movie by movie, I think it would be spectacular seeing Jacen slowly turn. SLOWLY.

But, I could see them in a hurry and getting it done in a single movie and we repeat Anakin all over again. Hopefully, that doesn't happen.

I LOVED the connect of Fett's daughter, Jacen, Jaina, Fett, etc. I thought that was awesome.

And even more so, after Jacen, I LOVED the way Dalaa pinned Luke in the corner about the whole idea of Jedi. That scene alone needs to be used somewhere in my life. Has to. Absolutely has to be somewhere. It was fantastic.

Yeah I can see him having that Skywalker weakness to the dark side but having one fall the way he did is just to easy imo. If done right maybe I'd feel different. Having Jacen fire on his sister, fire on Kashyyyk, having him become a front line warrior and second in command of the galaxy like Vader .. Nah. Felt like they were just trying for dramatic events to match Anakin killing younglings / the seps.

And then having him essentially sacrifice himself to save his child / "become Jacen again" 10 seconds before he died  come on now. Straight out of Episode 3/6 it's like they didn't even try to be creative.

I don't remember that Luke / Dalaa scene.

Well yeah, they didn't even try to hide that. They even alluded to him wearing all black with a cape and striding down a loading ramp. Dalaa cracked a joke that that seemed awfully familiar.

The Luke/Dalaa meeting was when Luke was ousted with Ben to search where Jacen went, reason being, she cornered him good.

They had their meeting and she, as leader of the GA pointed out to Luke that when Jedi conduct business, they are above reproach. She gave the example of a Jedi walks into a bar, cuts off a mans arm and leaves before any police can arrive, or investigate, or even ask any questions. The answer is always "Jedi business" (Remember Anakin saying exactly that in Ep II when he and Ben go into a bar as well) (she of course is referring to much older Ben protecting young Luke by cutting dudes arm off)

Luke agrees, but says same thing, they are Jedi, good Jedi, going about their business. Dalaa counters, "good" jedi, like Anakin was, and Jacen as well. Until they are no longer good.

Luke is essentially trapped. Dalaa goes on. Your own wife, worked for the Sith, for the dark side, before you yourself said she was "a good guy" now and accepted her into the Jedi Temple. Again, Luke is screwed.

Kyp Durron. Kills millions. Drives the Suncrusher around killin everyone til Han stops him. He is now a Jedi Master. Cuz Luke says so.

So she asks him. How is she to know that he is on the right side of the Alliance?

Bottom line, she flat out undressed Luke right there in terms of the place of the Jedi Order. Are they good, or are they bad. Right/wrong. Legal, illegal. And because of the Sith, and light side/dark side, and people switching back and forth at times (including Luke himself to defeat the emperor a second time) Luke has no choice but to step down and seek out the answers to her questions. Which of course leads to Abeloth and the mad Jedi.

BRILLIANT stuff. Perfect examples, dead on claims for each Jedi doing good, and bad things for the "will of the force" and such. Would be amazing if they broke it down like that on screen. If they ever try to tackle Abeloth on screen, and Luke setting out to find more about the force itself, this conversation MUST take place to get us there.

If Disney can do Guardians of the Galaxy stuff now, and Infinity Gauntlets and stuff of that nature, then they can pursue this.

Will they? That I don't know.

 I remember that now. Thought you were referring to something in Legacy. I really do hope we get some of this stuff on screen.

Still, George Lucas apparently had two such titles in mind when he conceived the film and sold it to Disney, and those have now been revealed. Plus, with the recent news he and J.J. Abrams have been talking a lot about the film, maybe these working titles – even if they don’t come to fruition – could give a hint at the story. Read them below.

Latino Review reported on these two working titles:

Return of the Sith and Rise of the Jedi

Also a rumor is going around they might make some official announcements within a week?

Bout damn time.

Sith in the title = right track. Just a matter of HOW they get there.

So if this is true (I think it is, this rumor is getting more support than any other rumor from LR) than the Sith will definitely be in the movie, not that there was ever any real doubt.

I still can't believe Episode VII is a reality. Still doesn't feel real.

The titles are kind of bland but whatever. Is Saiorse still rumored to be playing Jaina? Not sure if she really fits my image of the Sword of the Jedi.

Harrison will be there, he'll do it as a favor to Lucas at least.

He's got another movie coming out in 2 weeks and doesn't want to be inundated with Star Wars questions when he's trying to talk about his own movie.

Harrison ain't tryna turn down a role like this but do Cowboys and Aliens, come on.

Yep. Read another rumor saying the casting announcements will be made after Harrison's done with the promo for Ender's Game. His comments about Star Wars came on a talk show appearance when he was promoting that movie.

He recently said he'd definitely do another Indy and open to a Blade Runner sequel (which he hated working on), so his "uncertainty" about Star Wars is just smoke.

Yeah Harrison Ford is definitely in it , Benedict Cumberbatch too :nthat:

Ok.

So last Wednesday the Star Wars site/twitter/YouTube uploaded the Episode 4 teaser trailer. Today, they uploaded the Episode 5 teaser trailer. Following the obvious pattern, next Wednesday would be the Episode 6 teaser.

Last week a credible film critic tweeted that a teaser trailer for Episode 7 featuring Luke would soon be released. This guy had alot of rumours that turned out to be correct during the prequel trilogy days. The Wednesday after next week, or the Wednesday after the Episode 6 trailer will be October 30th, the one year anniversary of the announcement of Episode 7.

I think we're finally going to get something .

Star Wars VII: JJ Abrams & Lawrence Kasdan rewriting Michael Arndt

“I am very excited about the story we have in place and thrilled to have Larry and J.J. working on the script,” Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy said in a statement. “There are very few people who fundamentally understand the way a ‘Star Wars’ story works like Larry, and it is nothing short of incredible to have him even more deeply involved in its return to the big screen. J.J. of course is an incredible storyteller in his own right. Michael Arndt has done a terrific job bringing us to this point and we have an amazing filmmaking and design team in place already prepping for production.”

There is a lot of speculation and conjecture on the boards (and online, in general) about Episode VII info. I would like to simply clear the air, and offer some perspective.

The entirety of the information with regard to the creative direction of the new films that I have heard is the following redacted sentence. I know absolutely nothing else. I have heard nothing else.

Arndt wanted the films to concentrate on one set of characters. JJ wanted to focus on another, already-established, person. KK and Lucas agreed. JJ won.

This was a post on the star wars forums from a guy who's been leaking accurate stuff since the prequel days.

Apparently the Arndt script focused on the Solo family instead of the Skywalker clan. Leading most people to call it a "prequel apology tour" Skywalkers were still in the movie of course, but the Solo kids were the driving force. JJ / Lucas didn't think that's how the story should progress and Arndt was shown the door. I'm 100% with the new direction if this is true. It never made sense to me even in the EU why the story revolved around Solos more than Skywalkers. The whole SW story is and should be about Vaders family.

He also said that he's 100% sure Ewan McGregor will be reprising his role as Obi-wan and he said he's pretty sure Palatine will be the head villain based on other things he's heard. There will be other bad guys but Palatine will be the main one like in Episode 1.

Disney film studios has an investing call on the 7th and you know the investors will want to know what's going on with the movie and their 4 billion dollar investment. With that said this same guy said he thinks we should hear some real news by the end of this week.

If this is true, this is a HUGE mistake.

I'm sorry, but the EU has flourished because of the direction they took.

Why, on God's green earth, do we need MORE Obi Wan, MORE Palpatine? for a 7th film? We have enough of that ****. Move. The. Hell. On.

Luke, Leia, and Han should always be around. In the mix, etc, but start bringing in NEW pieces? This is a HUGE part of why the prequels failed.

Here's this cool new character, Darth Maul, we'll kill him after 20 minutes of screen time.

Here's the Jedi that finds Anakin, we'll kill him quick too.

Grievous? 20 minutes.

Boba Fett? He's 10.

God ******g damn it, stop using old *** characters and re-hashed storylines.

MOVE. ON.

I get what you mean about the Solo children, they did seem to "take over" however, Ben is still a HUGE part of the story. And Luke is thee leader. THEE, leader. He guides everything, perfectly.

We absolutely, unequivocally, do not need to see Palpatine, ever again. We have seen him fall, we have seen him rise. It's over. Move past that dude. There are billion bad guys in the galaxy, if they keep making movies about the same dumb ***, I'm going to lose it.

I seriously feel like Lucas is still running the whole entire show. It's like he never left. :smh:

 honestly I haven't seen much CP1708 in the Lakers/dolphins thread like he is in here. Damn son

Surely, you jest.

I have the most posts in both the Lakers, and the Dolphins season thread. And I just sit and talk to myself in the Cubs thread.
