Clearly. If Disney wanted to make a true spinoff than they wouldn't have made a story that coincides with the story of A New Hope. Also why would they hire 2 females with similar appearances and the same accent for 2 different Star Wars films and they have NOTHING to do with each other?? Jyn doesn't have to be Force sensitive if Rey's Father is (Luke) and there's something poetic about the woman who steals the plans of the Deathstar getting together with the guy who blew up the Deathstar. They can easily make Jyn live and have her as background player for the Rebel Alliance. Luke and Leia knew her off screen and Luke settles down with her after RotJ. Just like that they could've easily added a new character who has ties with the big 3
The big surprise of Rogue One won't be Vader but a CG enhanced young Carie Fisher and Mark Hamil
Disney has been doing this lately like in Antman and Captain Civil: Civil War

Tbh, if they DID pull that **** off and made it into the movie without it leaking beforehand, I would be more impressed with the fact that it didn't leak more than I would be irritated that this movie ties in so close with the Skywalkers

no way. CG luke and leia would stink and would dilute their pressence in the Saga series.

The one piece of reaching I do agree with lame on is this....
I've said for a while now, the end of Rogue One should be them getting the plans to Leia, and R2. It could be something like just her hair from behind, or even her voice down the hall, but with the tech they have to make characters look 40 years younger now, I could certainly see a brief 90 cameo from young Leia, Tantive IV, etc.
There is zero chance Luke appears, he's a farmboy still at the conclusion of Rogue One, he won't be "found" for another few days.

I actually like my stars unrecognizable in continuing roles.
I get Marvel does it well but I like seeing new faces in these type of movies.

I'm more nervous for the newbie playing Han but he's a good actor and I trust the
people behind the camera for that film so I'm really just hoping for a Guardians
